hey guys!! its been a while since i last posted a project and thought it would be nice to post a review on unraveled, book 9.5 of keeper of the lost cities. *SPOILER ALERT* spoilerssssss dont scroll down if u dont want spoilerssss okay, so i actually REALLY liked this book! it got lots of negative reviews just bc of its LGBTQ+ representation-and as a Christian i think it is slightly annoying-but it honestly was not that bad. it was mentioned once or twice. so ignore those negative reviews. and hold on can we talk about ALVAR?!?!?!?! OMG i actually was surprised at how much I liked his character! and while it seemed like too much of a coincidence that Keefe and him met in that library, Shannon made the flow smooth and subtle which I appreciated. SOKEEFEEEE!!! the sokeefe in this book was great and im so glad we got his pov of chapter 42 :DDD and while i wish there had been a bit more...i do think it was fantastic! i personally would've loved his pov about him training with Grady or when the elysian plot twist happened, but obviously Shannon can only do so much and that's okay. the eleanor plot line...im gonna be honest. i didn't like it too much. it felt very abrupt and sudden. and almost like shannon wanted to add a plot twist but didn't quite know what. i hope this will be tied up in book 10 because it felt weird but maybe that's just me. i love plot twists!! okay we need a section about the amazing POP CULTURE REFERENCESSSSS the flamin hot cheetos?? ritz crackers??? TAYLOR SWIFT HERSELF?? i could go on and on about it!! i absolutely love that shannon included these and it made the book a thousand times more fun to read. i loved them sm <3 the cassius thing. this thing i actually thought was super duper cool! while it was kind of weird im not gonna lie, it was sorta interesting. the way it was portrayed in the book was complex and strange, but when you think about Cassius's role in the social hiearchy of the Lost Cities, it makes a ton more sense. like OH!!!!! he's been working with humans for YEARS. this book, i rated it 4.5 stars because the pros totally outweigh the cons and i liked it a lot more than i expected. im really excited for when all these loose ends tie up in book 10 :)))

Description

rating: 4.5 stars highlights: pop culture references, character development, and plot twists stuff that fell short: sudden character introduction or "coincedences" overall, AMAZING book and a must read!
