This story relates with me the most write now.... Gray Seas: Parker stood by the shore, her feet barefoot and her toes sinking into the soft, but cold sand. A wave splashed at her feet, cold, but relaxing. The hem of her dress was drenched with the cold water, but she didn't notice. She sat down on the wet and cold sand, not minding the waves that splashed her face every few seconds. She breathed in the salty and refreshing sea air and stared at the gray sea that was right in front of her. Although the sea was as cold as ice the memories of it were not too cold nor' too hot. Parker came here for a reason. This place was comforting. All of the memories spent down by the shore were good ones. And then they were lost. A tear rolled down her cheek, but her expression remained unfazed as if she were trying to hide her emotions. She heard and knew a gray ford pulled up in the parking lot, right beside her dark red and rusty bike that she didn't even bother to put beside the parking lot. She'd just left the bike in the parking lot. A boy climbed out of the car and approached Parker. He towered over Parker with his brown bangs- compared to her short thin blonde bob. He sat down by her. Parker noticed out of the corner of her eye, but didn't look away from the gray seas. "I know times have been hard," The boy sighed, looking away from the same gray sea they were both staring at. He rested his hand on her wrist, looking her in the eye. "But we need to move on. As your older sibling I have to help you. And this is not good for you." Parker turned away from the cold waters as a big wave splashed- Perhaps she was only looking to him so the water wouldn't get in her eyes. But her gaze remained still and sad. A tear rolled down her cheek again, and then another.... and another until they were running freely. She sniffled. "She was the only one here for us. Mom and Dad aren't here for us, we don't have any friends..." Now she was sobbing, crying out all of her worries into her hand. "Grandma was the only one here for us," she wept. "Carter, how can you just go on without her?!" Her brother hesitated, but then put his arm around her, leaning. "I don't want to, but we have to. Some people die. And then we will see them on the other side." Parker didn't know what the 'other side' meant nor' did Carter, but she knew he was right. Grandma was long overdue for death. It was a miracle she'd survived to 106 with all of her medical problems and Parker knew that. She just.... It hurt too much. Parker buried herself in her arms, crying softly. Carter stood up, and tugged her arm. "C'mon. Everything will be alright. Just you see." One year later: Carter and Parker were in the same place at the sea, but this time so many people were surrounding her. Parker had made some friends who were there. Carter..... Carter didn't want friends, but he had made a friend which was right down by his feet, wagging her tail and panting. Mom and Dad, even though they were busy with the bills were there, smiling warmly at the sea. Instead of the cloudy and gray sea it had been the same day the year before it was a rather sunny day with clear, blue skies. The litter that had littered the beach was gone too! "See?" Conner grinned to Parker. "I told you things would look up."
