Chapter 4 Dovepaw's POV: ════════════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════════════ Dovepaw scrambled up the mountain. "Dovepaw! Help me!" Leafheart screeched. Dovepaw rolled his eyes. *Why does she keep on doing this? Acting so needy all the time!* Yesterday, she complained of having a belly ache. Amberpaw tried to comfort her with herbs, but Leafpaw demanded that Dovepaw feed her the herbs and hunt prey for her. Dovepaw hurried to her and pulled her up the cliff. "Woah..." Amberpaw mewed. Dovepaw turned around to see a cave hidden by a thick forest. He could make out a glowing light coming from inside of it. "This must be it." meowed Amberpaw. Leafpaw flicked her ear. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go in!" she hurried through the trees. When a huge muscular tom hopped through the trees and landed on Leafpaw. "What are you doing here?" he snarled. Amberpaw stepped forward. "We have been sent by StarClan to collect an herb called Honeyfern. They said that we could find it in a glowing cave hidden in a thick forest." Dovepaw blushed. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and love for Amberpaw. He just wished she chose to be a warrior instead of a med cat. The tom slid out his claws. Amberpaw tensed. But then a black tom with white splotches and yellow eyes came out of the thicket. "Mud! What are you doing here?" The other tom asked. Mud turned around to face the other tom, then growled "There are trespassers on our territory!" Mud snarled at the tom. The tom twitched his ear. "Mud. I am your leader. If they say they were sent from StarClan, then I believe them." He flicked his tail towards Dovepaw. "I'm Patch." He mewed. "And you are?" Amberpaw stepped forward. "I am Amberpaw. This is Dovepaw, and Leafpaw." She mewed. Dovepaw felt a tingle in his paws as she said his name. "Ah, yes. We were told about you." He nodded at Amberpaw. "Come in." He started to walk then paused. "Mud." He flicked his tail. They started walking towards the cave. Amberpaw followed. Leafpaw totted along. "Dovepaw, what do you think is inside there?" her fur rose. "Oh great StarClan it's cold!" Leafpaw pressed her fur against Dovepaw. Dovepaw flattened his ears. *What's up with Leafpaw?* Amberpaw's POV ════════════════ ⋆★⋆ ════════════════ She found it. Inside the cave that Patch led them in was the Honeyfern. *I wonder if it's a sign* she tried to think back, but couldn't remember anything, or anyone who looked like Honeyfern or had Honey or Fern in their name. Inside the honeyfern was a star. *I wonder if it will mean someone will become a leader.* Amberpaw inspected the flower. "So you're Amberpaw right?" Amberpaw turned around. It was a cat who had ash colored fur. "Oh, excuse me, i'm Asher." The gray cat had dark flecks on his body. "We've heard a lot about you. Our leader, Patch, told us about you." He walked right beside her. "So, therefore i'm really excited to meet you." He brushed his tail against her back fur. Amberpaw blushed a little. She knew she wasn't supposed to have mates...but she kinda liked Dovepaw...and now Asher?
