When I tell you this is a romance story, you might think: Sweet! Who’s the lucky lady? Well guess what? We’re both boys. Hi. What’s up. I’m alive. Kinda. Glad you’re back. Chapter 7 Apparently when you really need a teacher there isn’t one. Because this isn’t a normal middle school there aren’t to many teachers hanging around the halls. It’s the students’ dorms so maybe they aren’t allowed. Me and Thorne walk down to the lobby, because the principal’s office is by the lobby. Thorne is really cool. They have a mass of freckles splashed over their face, and part of their hair is shaved, the remaining part is a mess of black and green. They have big hoops for earrings, one silver, one gold. They’re wearing a a black and white checked shirt. Oh, and a cape. Thorne has a huge non-binary flag tied around their neck like a cape. It’s honestly the sickest thing I’ve ever seen. We find the principal exiting his office. “Hullo Ace, hullo Thomas.” Thorne goes red with anger. “Sir, with all due respect, my name is Thorne. Um, I seem to remember having a conversation like this last year…and last week.” “Ah, sorry…Thorne. Now, what was it you boys wanted to talk about?” “They’re not a boy.” I mumble. “What was that? Speak up Mr. Malloy!” The principal snaps. “They’re non-binary! They aren’t a boy or a girl.” The principal seems very puzzled over this. “Right, then young man and young non-binary. What did you want to talk about?” Thorne chokes and falls to the ground laughing. “Young non-binary! Please control yourself!” Thorne wheezes. “Uh, sir there’s a fight going on upstairs, in my dorm, it’s my roommate, he’s fighting my crush, erm, classmate Arch.” “Well, why did you spend all this time talking about computers! What was your roommates’ name? Kyle?” “Er, no, it was Kenny.” “Ah. Well, lead the way.” About an hour later Arch is in the nurse’s, and Kenny is suspended. They would have expelled him, but he got a broken arm from Arch. Arch will have a month of detention and extreme probation. If he sneezes the wrong way the school will kick him out. Kenny isn’t my roommate any more. The principal proclaimed that because Thorne is enby they should not be sharing a room with a boy. Thorne will have their own room, instead of sharing room 237 with Arch. It’s good for Thorne. Arch will be my roommate. Which is exciting. And awkward. He sent someone to the hospital for me. That’s gotta mean something.
