Oh my god ... I got a favorite! This project is about a planet that is different from all the other planets in its solar system. Earth is the third planet from the sun and is about 93,000,000 miles away from the sun. It is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees. It is the only planet with surface water, making this planet unique in our solar system; however, that is not the only way our planet is unique, since it is the only planet known to have life. Since Earth travels in a circular orbit, it is always in the right place for life. The Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. Earth has seen many mass extinctions (six to be precise), including the one at the end of the Permian (that was the worst one) and the one at the end of the Cretaceous (that's the one where the dinosaurs died out), and there is one happening right now; the cause is humans. I made this project to inspire other Scratchers to help prevent the extinction of more than half the world's species. But if there's a volcanic eruption or a meteorite smashes into Earth or any other natural cause, then you can blame natural processes.
