Petalkit was shivering. "Leaf-bare is so c-cold!" She said. Windrider, her mother bristled. "Yes, Petalkit, it is." She whispered. Petalkit suddenly screeched with fear. “Petalkit,” Windrider said. “What is it!” Suddenly, a hawk came from the sky, its talons outstretched, moments later, it swooped down and picked up Petalkit in its enormous talons. “Petalkit!” Windrider screeched in fear. One second later, petalkit was dangling from the hawk’s claws and was flown away…. Windrider sat down on the cold snow to mourn for her lost kit. She had already lost mintkit- one of petalkit’s littermates, but now she had lost yet ANOTHER one of her kits. Tears dripped down her face as she thought about her kits. Starclan… please take care of them… she thought.
