They both were infected, however, Nathan got worse over time while Andy was still minorly affected by the virus. The virus is only getting worse, this isn't good for him or Andy. Nathan also recognizes Whizzy and Mallory, yet he does forget about others because his brain is half working. They both are staying in the basement in their own house to avoid people, however...Jordan found the place they were hiding in and thought there was supplies to help him but he got off guard when he saw the two injured and infected.
