A Golden Story ------------------------ Chapter 4 --------- The Journey Next: Soon Previous: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1058516046/ First: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1058467773/ this ones just a little bit more shorter than average ^^ Gold took a deep breath, but it wasn’t of nervousness of fear— one of excitement. After all these years, she would travel across the lands! She still felt the sadness of not seeing her parents, but Gold was determined to find her way home again. Kamber had read a mysterious book on the Kitiq Flower; a plant that could give humans exceptional powers when consumed. Even though she wasn’t fully sure that her wings were related to the flower, what better option did she have anyways? It was a hope still undetermined, but fueled by motivation. She had been stuffing a backpack with supplies of the modern world, thanks to Walker and all. The backpack was a faded black, a little worn out from its age, but perfectly secure to hold many items. Kamber had given her a jar that was on her apartment shelf, and Kamber loved to decorate, especially with jars which she thought brought out a homes natural beauty. The jar would be used to store each precious petal they would “obtain” hopefully. Reader, Gold was nervous that they wouldn’t ever be able to gather all the petals, and every inching second had Gold’s parents more worried, as it felt to her. “Are you done packing, Gold?” Said Walker, who had closed his door sadly. He and his best friend, Kamber, had agreed to help her find the Kitiq Flower petals, but it meant leaving modern luxuries for a who knew how long. He would sure miss his comfy bed and fireplace. Coincidentally Kamber appeared in the doorway, heaving a backpack and a satchel next to her— She lived in an apartment four doors down conveniently. “I’m all ready to go!” Kamber cheered oddly. It wasn't like her to actually be happy about something. Gold raised a brow. Maybe she just wants to explore like I do? She thought, then shrugged it off. “I-I think I’ve gotten everything, guys.” Gold said, looking through her bag once more, then nodded approvingly. Walker walked up beside her and she felt flushed slightly. Weird . . . “One thing,” Kamber said, frowning. “How do we even know where we’re supposed to go?” She opened up the sea-blue book, staring disapprovingly. “I wonder why it doesn’t have a map.” Walker came over to Kambers side and peered at the old pages. “You’re holding it upside-down,” he explained. Kamber quickly turned it over in embarrassment and stiffly mumbled. “I knew that. I was just trying to make you look stupid . . “ "It says here that each flower has a holder and you have to convince them in some way for them to grant you a petal," Kamber read, squinting her hazel eyes. "The book reads, 'I am unsure of their location, but when the Kitiq Flower went extinct, one of the former holders wrote a poem to those who sought out to find them . . " "A-nestled in the mountainside a place filled with disgrace from others, all over there and in the air it lies. Flutters kept hidden from others as he clutches so dearly to himself. Whistling in the air comes a bow, striking the trees as it blows in the breeze. Twisted pines screech in the place it lies, but watching in the treetops with firm care is the job he takes with much care. Twas a night so dim that one lifted a house limb-to-limb, her valiant eyes grounded to a place so founded. Days long and filled with work, but glum are her eyes to watching flora. Past the mountaintops he saw, but little did he know it was his one big flaw. The lights of action had cast away his distraction; his heart in the right place, but deep down, was he really just a disgrace? Her voice so quiet, but her ego big like her hearing, but would her foes cause her demeaning? Her most trusted ally. Her legs so fast it was just a blur, but she failed to stir the things around her, the trees failing to even nod to her presence." Petals of many." Kamber closed the book shut, sending a musty cloud of old paper across the apartment. Gold sniffled, wondering what the poem meant and what they were to search for. To put it simply, she was not the greatest at figuring out puzzles, especially the meaning of poems. But Gold knew that somewhere in it's words was the answer to why she was here and how it happened. Walker stepped out of the apartment building and inhaled a quick, sharp breath of city air. "Smells just like the sewer," he sighed sarcastically, looking towards his two companions. Gold was behind him and Kamber was in the back. "You can't let the city goers see her wings, so she should be put in the middle," she suggested surprisingly, since Walker was the one to figure out everything and form a plan. Gold looked up hopefully towards the clear blue sky despite the loud beeps of cars and its towering buildings that trapped the skies from it's natural beauty. Even in this situation, she felt her mind swell with excitement for an adventure; something she had always wanted her whole life. JESUS FOR EVERYTHING <33 Moana for the song!!
