Depicted aircraft: F6F-3 BuNo 40467 40467 was delivered to the USN on November 5th, 1943, and was famously flown by Navy ace Alexander Vraciu. Currently, 40467 is under restoration to fly at Yanks Air Museum in Chino, California, nearing completion.
