This chapter is from Piper's perspective. Piper and Tam's friendship gets off to a rocky start. Clean version of a FanFic I'm writing.

Description

-Chapter Five- --Don’t EVER call me Beauty Queen-- Piper frowned at the elves. It didn’t seem fair to her that thanks to Sophie and some magical book series, they now knew everything about the Seven and the Seven knew nothing about them. Jason seemed to feel the same way; he shifted uneasily and scowled at the other group. Leo and “Keefe” - Piper was still mystified by the strange names these people had - were the only ones who were at ease, and Keefe was the first one to cross the distance between the groups. He and Leo were now excitedly exchanging prank ideas and weird nicknames, and Dex had eventually joined them, jumping in with gadget suggestions as Leo pulled random bits and pieces from his toolbelt. Once, Keefe glanced over at Piper with a snicker. “Beauty Queen?” Piper glared at him. “Don’t EVER call me Beauty Queen,” she snapped. Keefe put his hands in the air innocently, but he was obviously hiding a smirk. Piper rolled her eyes and looked over at Goth Kid - Tam. He kind of reminded her of Nico. Huh. Tam met her eyes. His were a strange silver-blue, and she realized they were the same hue as the black-haired girl next to him, Linh. Maybe they were siblings, even twins. Tam broke eye contact, glaring down at his feet. Piper frowned. He was definitely reminding her of Nico now. Piper surprised herself by crossing the gap between the two groups and shoving her finger into Tam’s face. “What’s your problem? Too embarrassed to even look any of us in the eye after invading our memories? Or are you just naturally a coward?” she waved at his outfit. “‘Oh, look at me, I’m so dark and tortured!’ You’re not fooling anybody, Goth Boy!” Silence. Tam blinked once. Twice. And burst out laughing. “Sophie didn’t say you were so fierce,” he said when he’d regained the power of speech, still smirking a little. “Guess even humans can surprise you sometimes.” “They definitely can. But I’m not one. I’m a demigod.” She stalked back to her friends, the sound of Tam’s laughter still ringing in her ears.
