It was jointly developed by Naidun Aerospace Industries (NAI) and the Agency for Defence Development (ADD). The NKT-1A variant is a light attack aircraft (LCA) modification of the NKT-1. It's able to hold substantial munitions for the weight of the NKT-1A. The NKT-1R variant is a recon variant of the NKT-1, with special avionics and a TQK-1 "Spear" advanced targeting pod.
