Chapter 4: MudClan --------- Days passed and the tiny kit was getting stronger. She jumped over the fence and padded into the woods, it started to snow as Leaf-Bare was almost starting. She walked over to the muddy area by the river where she was a few days ago. The white tom was no longer in the river, and he was buried, there was a stone where he used to lay. "That must be the grave." Smoky mewed. She sniffed the air, "I recognize that smell.." She sniffed the air again and she gasped. "The gray cat!" she turned around and met eyes with the angry, large, she-cat. "I thought I said don't return." She growled. "You will not survive in the forest, you're too small." "I'm not small! And I'm not weak!" Smoky hissed, her voice filled with confidence. "You're no bigger than a kit! You must leave MudClan territory!" The small kit tilted her head with confusion, "MudClan?" She echoed. The large she-cat sighed. "Yes, there are 3 Clans that live in or near this forest. MudClan, CreekClan, and FieldClan. The Queens, Kits, and Elders eat first. however the Apprentices and Warriors have to catch their own food. You wouldn't understand" "Can I understand?" Smoky asked. "What are you asking?" The large she-cat bent down to Smoky's level. "Can I join MudClan?" She smiled, "I mean I'm strong enough! Ever since I last saw you, I was angry how you said I was weak, so I trained hard to be strong!" She puffed up her chest, trying to look large like the gray she-cat. "I suppose we do need warriors at this time.. Fine. Follow me and I will call a meeting about your arrival" Those words made the small she-kit light up, "However, you will need to go through proper training to understand the warrior code" "Of course!" Smoky smiled. "Follow me." They both padded into the forest, discussing things about warrior life. Chapter 5: Just a Kittypet --------- The two gray she-cats padded over to a hole in the ground, the place was muddy and a few flowers grew, there was stones everywhere, and mangrove trees grew all around it. "Here we are, MudClan Camp." The large she-cat looked at Smoky, then pointed to the hole. "Um, I think that's a rabbits' den.." Smoky giggled. "No, its the entrance, if you come up here you can see the camp from below, its just hidden." She lead Smoky up the slight hill. "Oh ok- wait!" "What?" "We don't know each others names!" "Oh, right. I'm Cavestar, leader of MudClan." "Oh! You're the leader? Wow! Um- I'm Smoky!" She dipped her head respect and smiled "Well, you won't be Smoky for much longer." "Uh, okay" They both padded down the muddy tunnel, Cavestar walked on top of a large tree that seemed to have fallen over with Smoky right beside her. "Let all cats old enough to fight their own battles, gather beneath the FallenTree!" Cavestar announced. A bunch of cats gathered around, wondering what the meeting would be about. When all the chatter died down, Cavestar spoke. "A few days ago, I, as well as Sunnythorn, met this small Kittypet. Today i met her once again, and she is willing to join MudClan, so, Smoky, you shall be an apprentice of MudClan, You shall leave your Kittypet life behind. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Bravepaw. I, Cavestar, Leader of MudClan, will be your mentor. I hope I can pass down all I know on to you." Sunnythorn growled quietly in the crowd. "But She's just a Kittypet, she can never be a warrior!" A black tom protested from the crowd. "I agree! Plus, she's far too small to be apprenticed!" A small, silver she-cat agreed. "I am 7 moons old! If I was Clanborn, i would already be an apprentice by now!" Bravepaw hissed "Everyone! Shush! Many of our ancestors were Rogues and Kittypets, so why is she any different?!" A slim, orange apprentice stepped up in front of the crowd, defending Bravepaw. Bravepaw looked down at the apprentice, eyes bright with happiness. She's pretty..! Bravepaw thought. "Flowerpaw is right, and all of them were strong warriors or smart medicine cats! Anyways, since there is nothing else to be discussed, Meeting dismissed, go back to your duties everyone." Cavestar leaped down from the FallenTree and fixed her icy blue gaze onto Bravepaw. "Bravepaw, get some sleep, you'll train tomorrow." Cavestar ordered, "The apprentices' den is over there." The leader tilted her head in the direction of the apprentices' den and padded away. Bravepaw walked over to the orange apprentice. "Hey, uh, Flowerpaw, right?" The apprentice turned her head towards Bravepaw. "Yeah! Do you... Need something?" "Oh! No, I just wanted to say, Thanks for defending me!" "Oh, don't worry about it. Its what clanmates do, er, some of them at least." She giggled "Hey, do you want to be friends?" Bravepaw smiled "Mmh, not really." Those words wiped the smile off of Bravepaw's face "Oh, okay-" "I'm just kidding! I'd love to be friends!" Flowerpaw smiled and leaped on top of Bravepaw.
