Instructions

Just press the green flag and watch. The percentage should fall on about 66.7% chance to win. My data: At about 4.5 million tests there was a 66.702706% chance for switching to win.

Description

This is a simulation of a probability problem called the Monty Hall Problem, or Game Show Problem. Imagine their are three boxes, in one of which is a large amount of money. You will select a box at random. Then, one of the boxes will be eliminated. It is not the one with money under it. Now, you will be given the choice to change your selection. If you selected the box with the money, you get to keep the money. Seemingly, the odds of winning are 50-50. But actually switching results in a 2/3 chance to win. Wikipedia has a good article on it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monty_Hall_problem This type of interesting behavior is why probability is so fun for me. You have to actually think about it.
