Chapter 4 “…And you know the rest,” Rose finished telling Fox. After their being reunited, Rose had started telling Fox about what had happened. “Let’s go now.” “Where?” Fox asked. “There are two cities to stop at. Lorux and Zenra.” “We’re going back to Skyline,” Rose said boldly. “What!?” Fox said. “The place that nearly killed us? And you’re going back?” “Obviously Skyline has an evil ruler,” Rose said. “We should try to stop her.” “No way!” Fox shook his orange head. “We are so not going back.” “You can go on to Zenra if you’d like,” Rose suggested. Fox opened his mouth to say something, then hesitated. “I would check out Skyline again,” Rose continued. Fox closed his mouth abruptly. “I’ll go now,” Rose said, knowing her words had struck home. “And let you go alone?” Fox protested. “Of course not!” “Are you coming or not?” Rose gestured. Fox sighed. “Alright.” Shadow! Rose transmitted. Rose! Shadow said. What’s happening? Do you need anything? Are you safe? Is Fox there? “Are you talking to Shadow?” Fox asked. “Yes,” Rose admitted. No, I don’t need anything, I’m safe and Fox is here, Rose told Shadow. We’re coming back to Skyline. ‘ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?’ were Shadow’s first words. Shadow, please, Rose pleaded. You know how horrible they are. Give me a chance to bring peace. NO! Shadow roared. A storm crashed into Rose’s mind, along with a blizzard. She heard thunder and saw lightning as Shadow growled, you have no idea how dangerous it is. Go home, Rose Arvis Thorall. NO! Rose fought back. You can’t stop me! I’ll go back! I will destroy you and continue with my quest! “You okay?” Fox asked, and Rose realized she’d been clutching her head in pain. “Yeah,” Rose said. “Just…intense.”
