♡The Void♡ ---- "This is FILTHY" 14-year-old Vanessa Hawbring thought, staring at a old mirror, with silver engravings of fairies, about the height and width of her, caked in dust. "Mom, do I HAVE to bring this into MY room?" She asked her mother. "Yes, darling, it was your father's." Her mom replied. Vanessa's dad, Jacob Hawbring, d!ed in a car crash when she was six. "Alright..." Vanessa replied, and heaved the giant mirror into her new room. She had already decorated it with heart lights around her walls, a picture wall, and her desk with a picture of her family. She set it down near her make-up section and adjusted it, wiping all of the dust off. She then stepped back and made various poses in front of it, flicking her pitch black hair behind her. "VANESS VANESS VANESSSSSS" She then heard. "WHAT, LEO?" She called back to her 11-year-old brother. "HAVE YOU SEEN MY VIDEO GAME?" "NO," she replied and rolled her eyes, "My little brother is SO annoying," she thought. She then noticed a small smudge on the mirror. She rubbed it with a towel. Then, all of a sudden, the mirror swirled and changed colors. Vanessa stepped back, but the mirror seemed like it was sucking her in! The her brother came in, "Hey have you seen-" and got sucked in. "LEO!" She cried, reaching out and missing for her brother's hand. She let go of the desk she was holding onto, and went in after her brother. --- Vanessa landed with a /thud/. She got to her feet and yelled, "LEO?" Her blue eyes widening. Meanwhile, her brother was enjoying himself, running around on strange platforms that went up, down, and even sideways. Vanessa ran around, trying to find her crazy 11-year-old brother. When she found him, he was being weird upside-down. "LEO MATTHEW HAWBRING GET DOWN HERE THIS MINUTE!" She yelled at him. He looked up, which would really be looking down. "Okay! How?" "I don't know! How did you get up there?!" "I dunno!" "So you mean you just -what- teleported up there?" "Uh, yeah!" Her brother stood up and reached for his sister, "maybe you could pull me down!" "I can try..." Vanessa reached up for her brother, but couldn't reach. She jumped and grabbed onto her brother's hand, and he slowly came down, turning around and landing on his feet. "Thanks." He muttered. Vanessa nodded and held out her hand, "we should hold hands, I don't want you getting lost again," she said and Leo took his sister's hand, his other hand in his hoodie pocket. Leo and Vanessa walked for a bit, keeping close to make sure they don't get separated. Vanessa heard her brother's stomach grumble and she nudged him, holding a granola bar and giving it to him. He smiled, something he hasn't done to her for a while. She smiled back. Then they heard a soft squishing sound, /squoosh squash/ Vanessa and Leo turned around slowly. Leo dropped his granola bar wrapper. There stood, or lay a ginormous blob of green slime, sucking up everything around it and making big squishing sounds. The siblings' eyes widened in fear. The Leo started running, pulling his older sister with him and the pair of them started running, the wave of green gloop, moving behind them, outrunning them. "We need to find some shelter that we can evade this!" "Uhhh english please!" Her brother yelled back, still running. "We need somewhere to hide!" "Okay! on it! How about there?!" Leo yelled, pointing to a ledge. "Alright!" Vanessa said and grabbed onto it, swinging her brother up and pulling herself up with him. The green blob raced past then and then, silence. Erie silence. The siblings looked at each other and chills ran down Vanessa's back. Then her brother yelled, "look!" pointing up at a circle, showing Vanessa's room. Their dog, Wilbur was sniffing the glass. Leo waved at the brown and white mutt, saying "WILBURRR!" The dog barked and trotted away. "Do you think he saw us?" Leo asked. Vanessa pursed her lips, "Probably not. We didn't see this place." Leo frowned. "Oh... I was hoping that he was able to see us. I thought her could get Mom or someone, and help us." He said, his blue eyes, gazing down. Vanessa squatted down to be eye level to her brother. "No, I don't think so... But it was a good idea." She said, and hugged him. She hadn't had a good hug since her father d!ed. Leo looked just like him and tears came to her eyes. Then, a staircase came down, and lead to the mirror hole. Leo looked up and gazed at it. "Look! We can get out!" He said and started running up. But then something appeared that made him stop in his tracks. Vanessa stared at it wide-eyed. Right there, standing right there, was a shimmery image of their father, Jacob Hawbring. Leo ran over. "D-Dad?" He said, their dad smiling. "Leo! Vanessa!" He said, arms wide open. Vanessa started crying. "Dad!" She cried and ran to him. They hugged and her brother joined in. Her dad smiled and put a hand on both of their shoulders. "You guys... Go home. Your mother needs you." (More in notes)
"But we need you!" Leo cried. "I know, but you can't raise the d3ad. Now, go home. I'll always be with you." Leo nodded and pulled his sister to the staircase but Vanessa stopped. "I need a minute. You go on." He nodded and started walking up. Vanessa turned to her father, her expression the same as it was after that faithful car crash, that ruined their lives. Her dad hugged her again. "I'M SO SORRY! IF I HADN'T PUSHED YOU TO GO TO THAT ICE CREAM PLACE, THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!" She cried, literally sobbing. "Shhh. It's okay, you are okay. That's all that matters. You and your brother." She sniffled and nodded. "Now, go on, you still have a life to live. Have fun, I'll always be with you. And used the notebook on your bed, write to me. Now, go." Vanessa obeyed, and followed her brother up. --- They land on the floor and Leo runs out, most likely to find Wilbur. Vanessa sat on her bed, and grabbed the notebook, and wrote to her father. What she saw shocked her. -------------------- ♡ NOTESSSS ♡ All of the OCs are made by me.
