In the 1980s, Naidun primarily relied on older Alvertion Union and UAC MBTs to service the NSDGF's heavy armor. This reliance on foreign powers led Nadiun to develop the K-88-1 [K = MBT, 88 = 1988, model 1], which serves to this day in Naidun's armored forces. In 1995, the K-88-1E1 was released, providing a much-needed fire control suite, engine, and armor update, developed by Meowstibishi, it was one of the most tanks advanced at the time. The E2, which finished development in 2005, updated the K-88-1 to modern armor standards and added a soft-kill APS for drones and ATGMs. In 2013, the K-88-1A1 finished development, marking a massive overhaul of the fire control systems, engine, and suspensions, and added a 125mm cannon instead of the underpowered 105mm cannon found in the previous variants.

Description

The K-88-1M is up to K-88-1E2 standards without an RCWS. Currently, the K-88-1 is out of service, and in long-term storage, the K-88-1E1 is in limited service, and the K-88-1E2 is in service, slowly being phased out by the K-88-1A1. The K88-1A1 serves alongside the newer Type-13 MBT.
