Okay so…. Rant time Basically at my school I’m currently doing a 2 year course for my subjects. I’m at the end of the 1st year rn. However NEXT YEAR my school has decided to change the curriculum to benifit the year behind me. In the first year we used to choose 3 subjects with math, English and science being compulsory, and the same in the second year- however for science you had to choose between physics and bio, and chemistry was optional. This is where the problem is. Now, my school has changed it so that in the first year, math English and science are compulsory and you choose 2 subjects, and in the second year math and English are compulsory and you choose 3 subjects. Aswell as this, they’re making everything a 1 year course- meaning that people will do their exams at the end of the first year and the second year for different subjects. This benefits the year behind me, as they get to do 8 subjects However- I’m now down to 5. Whenever we’ve brought up the fact that we should be able to take 4 subjects, the school has pushed it away saying ‘there’s not enough time’ We have 6 periods in a day. What ya gonna give us pe every single day? Is it just my friends and I who think this is madness? They’re making us specialise in a subject by taking science out. Apparently they want to do this so that we can pick 3 sciences There’s a simple solution to that mate Just make 1 science compulsory Boom Problem solved
