Space/click Use with credit HISTORY BuNo 3815 F4U-1 BuNo 3815 was built in 1942. We do know it served alongside F4U-1 'Daphne C' (BuNo 3829) in VMF-213, but we don't know exactly what its squadron number was. It was recovered from a lake in 1981, and went through several owners throughout its restoration, before being purchased and fully restored by the LSAM in 2006. BuNo 88215 FG-1 BuNo 88215 was built in 1945 by Goodyear for the RNZAF. At the time of this post it was still under restoration. It took its first flight during LSAS 2024. BuNo 80851 F4U-4 80851 was built in 1944, and delivered to the USMC. It crashed along the coast of Samar, Philippines May of 1945, and was recovered by the LSAM in 1973. Its restoration was completed in 2006 alongside F4U-1 3815. It was repainted into VF-32 colors for the 'Devotion' movie, and hasn't been repainted yet. BuNo 121826 F4U-5 121826 was built in 1946 and delivered to the Navy, assigned to VF-13. 121826 was retired in 1956, and sold to the LSAM in 1957, making it the longest owned Corsair by a single private owner.
