so, i wanted to make a little audiobook called ‘turtleneck’! since halloween is coming up soon, i decided this was the perfect opportunity to make an audiobook completely from my ideas, unlike ‘the lost luck’. in the ‘instructions’ page, the characters and below is the plot & tips. enjoy! ꧁ characters! ꧂ lindsey cotes. introverted and antisocial, lindsey almost never talks, and when she does, it’s a cold, emotionless voice. she doesn’t have many lines, but still a major character in the storyline. she is thirteen years old, and one of my favorites, so i'd look for the perfect voice match to fit her personality. her voice is medium-high, and remember to be rather deadpan. mildly condescending: ‘try not to be as stupid. i know it might be hard.’ confused: ‘they never make any sense to me.’ aubrey mast. aubrey is lindsey's right wing and quite the rebel. neither of them does well in school, but aubrey couldn’t care less. she’s tough, sassy, sarcastic, and protective of those she loves. she is grunge, with an unset voice pitch, so play around! she is major, and with a british / irish accent. angry: ‘krew, what on god’s green earth are you doing?!’ annoyed: ‘’bout time someone put him in his place.’ krew middlesborough. he is a young jock, lindsey and aubrey’s age, playing baseball with the older crowd of his high school. so basically, just as good as sasha, if not, better. he loves to be the centre of attention with a loud, medium-low voice and a confident, perhaps cocky attitude. he is major. cold and charismatic: ‘i need to know everything you know, that’s all.’ sarcastic: ‘sorry for the inconvenience, dude.’ sasha mast. [sash-a] sasha is aubrey's older brother, and i guess you could say he’s a jock? he is three years older than her and knows everyone at the school, including all the rumors amidst in the air. sasha is charismatic, cool, and pretty chill with everyone. you could either classify him as major-minor or minor, i’m unsure, as well as the voice pitch. british / irish accent. happy: ‘i appreciate it, coach. thanks.’ urgent and calm: ‘aubrey i need to talk to you, and it’s important.’ esther lopez. a geek, to say the least. she is shy and very smart, and is nice to everyone, except for krew. they have… history. but anyways, she has a high voice and is in ninth grade, like pretty much everyone else. she is major-minor. bitter and a bit sad: ‘stop playing the victim card, krew, it gets old.’ curious: ‘i don’t even know why he’d do that.’ nathanial nesters. he is pretty minor and neighbors with lindsey, so you could say they’re close. he has a medium-high voice and he is two years younger than lindsey, aubrey, krew and esther but still gets picked on for his short size. [they all go to a private school so it’s k-12.] scared: ‘i-i swear i don’t know anything!’ downcast: ‘yeah, i’m fine. don’t worry about me.’ danielle farbey-smith. mean, pretty dumb i’d say with good looks, and the typical ‘popular kid’. she is as old as sasha but has a medium-high voice and is classified as minor. probably won’t get a lot of auditions is my guess haha. warm, happy: ‘hey, sasha! how are you?’ talking quickly and happily: ‘he’s kind of like a little brother to me.’ baseball coach. preferably male with a low voice, or female with a low voice aswell. must be clear, kind of harsh, but a bit warm when demonstrating sympathy. minor. demanding: ‘hey, sasha, i need to talk to you real quick.’ satisfied: ‘i’m glad you’ll put it into consideration.’ young aubrey. so a higher pitched version of aubrey, basically! if you want don’t pronounce your ‘r’s correctly. be sassy and cute and kind of a brat. minor. impatient: ‘fine, give me that already, lazy bones.’ young lindsey. pretty high voice, squeaky and add a bit of lisp maybe? but keep that deadpan! minor, i guess heheh… mysterious: ‘you’ll find out soon enough.’ young krew. higher pitched version of krew. that’s all, and he has one itty-bitty line so definitely minor! curious: ‘aubrey, can you sharpen my pencil?’ teacher. uhh, basically someone with like three lines, so very minor. gender doesn’t matter to me, but try to talk like a teacher, whatever that means. try some accents! satisfied: ‘class is dismissed, you may leave.’ calling out, reminding: ‘don’t forget about those projects of yours!’ school kids. basically a collection of kids. at school. i’m looking for maybe three people who can do many accents and voices to replicate a ‘crowd’. definitely minor, but it’s still needed and will be used frequently. put each accent down in a different soundtrack, or altogether, whatever suits your fancy. i do not have specific lines, so do anything lol. sorry about that…
꧁ plot. ꧂ very short, i know, but i might expand it! here it is... basically all these kids go to a stuffy private school. there is a rumor floating around about lindsey. some of these kids decide to partner up for a school project in hopes of uncovering her secret when she isn’t looking and ruin her reputation. but, instead, it spirals into a horror-thriller scenario and the table are flipped. lindsey’s secret might mean life or death, and they all have to try to survive as it unleashes something less than human. ꧁ forms. ꧂ audition form. [basically if i didn’t invite you fill out this and then audition, no verification by me needed.] user. // characters. // level of experience, like how long. // activeness. // codeword. [it changes daily heheh.] helper form. [idk what you could do yet sorry but come up with some stuff for me! you don’t need an invite.] user. // what you could bring to the table. // activeness. // codeword. ꧁ more info. ꧂ i plan to close auditions september 19th, with results on october 1st. then, hopefully, it’ll be out by halloween!! the runtime is hopefully around 10 minutes and i’m very excited. thanks for reading all of this, and i hope you’ll audition or help me in some sort. idkk honestly, its all still a work in progress. you will find out why it is called ’turtleneck’ later!! mwa ha ha… i did invite some peeps, but feel free if you weren’t! i probably just missed you by accident... oh, two more things: try to be more experienced in voice-acting for this project of mine, and have fun!! ꧁ rules and tips. ꧂ have good mic quality and be clear. no background noise helps, repeat the lines multiple times, be nice and supportive, no guilt-tripping, read the entire desc. i know it’s long, but it does help you in your auditions if you know everything I’ve sorted out. codeword: monologues.
