PLEASE NOTE: Trooper Down Recon is NOT cancelled Trooper Down 3 is NOT cancelled This is something else Watch the project first, then read down below SOOOO YEAH! We're Doing It. We're actually freaking doing it. The remake of what arguably started it all. It was the first Trooper Down game to expand upon the story, and build the foundation of a universe that has been in the worldbuilding phase for AGES now. I'm really excited for this, because I've been wanting to make a remake of TD2 for the longest time. My art and coding have improved so much since then, and with the dev team helping me, we're able to stay organized and keep the project together. As said earlier, I'm not cancelling Trooper Down 3 or Recon. This was just to add more to the story of those games. This DOES mean however, that the original story of Trooper Down 2 can be considered non-canon since we're making so many changes lore-wise. Before you say "Oh great, this'll take him forever" Wrong. The game is only in its first week of development and we're actually pretty much 10% done. Our release date goals are as follows Best case goal: Release on October 2nd (the same as TD2 original) Next best goal: Release on October 31st (Halloween, duh) Worst case scenario: Mid November? Idk. Granted, this is my senior year (shocker, right?) so I might be a little busier, but hopefully not that busy. This game isn't too big, but we do want to make some big moments that will be (and already are) freaking awesome. New and better art designs, New and better gameplay, and I've even recruited a professional cast of voice actors who will make the game SO much more immersive. Stay patient, Trust me. This will be worth the relatively short wait. Now... about Recon: Recon was delayed because we had 2 things left to do: Finish Voice lines, and make the SMG. Unfortunately, the dev who was working on both of those, hasn't said anything for a while. No idea what happened, but basically we cant finish the game without him. It's starting to be so long that we've debated to just get a new voice actor, and do the SMG on our own, which would SUCK because this developer has done so much to contribute to our cause, that I'd feel SO bad to replace some of the things he was gonna do. I'm gonna give it a few more days, and then I'm likely going to just... do that anyway... so Recon in a few days maybe? yay? I have no idea. With that, I leave now, to go work on the game some more
