This theory is Part Two of a large theory I have. [next] This theory is one that I've had in my head for a while and is about OJ and Cobweb's origin, relation, and purpose in the story. It is a common theory that OJ is trying to control the clans, mostly based on OJ's song Queen of the Kings. It is also widely assumed she will probably succeed in taking over Shadowclan based on Featherstar's song King. Despite this, I think OJ is going to try to take over Skyclan. I made a theory about why here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1050333499/ [next] Besides OJ's revolutionary ideals, she also is an important character because of Cobweb. Cobweb says in chapter 32 that OJ is treating her like their child to 'compensate', meaning the OJ has probably lost a child. My second bit of info is this blurb of OJ's personality from a cameo for SoTS that says OJ thinks of herself as selfless and has a 'for the greater good' mentality. Because of these, I think she is trying to overthrow the clans because they did something to kill/kidnap her child. She believes putting herself on the throne, so to speak, will stop these injustices from happening. [next] The next thing to cover is how OJ found Cobweb. In chapter 30, Cobwebs says she's from an animal shelter, but I'm not completely convinced of this. Cobweb has lied about their name and the fact they were a kittypet, so they're obviously not above lying. Along with that, before each lie, they say uhh, which happens before she says she's from an animal shelter. They could alternatively be telling truth, because there is no extra frame or dot eyes, which there are before the other lies. [next] Another thing is that OJ and Cobweb have very similar fur shape. At first I thought this was coincidence, but in chapter 30 Hazepaw literally mentions the similarities, meaning it's acknowledged in cannon. [next] My theory is, if Cobweb isn't lying about being in the animal shelter, is that OJ, seeing a cat that resembled their lost child, took Cobweb in as their own, promising them a safe life in the clans that she would conquer. If Cobweb is lying about the animal shelter, I assume she is distantly related to OJ (maybe first cousins once removed? Idk). Similar to how Cloudkit was given to Firestar, I imagine OJ's cousin gave Cobweb to her or OJ stole Cobweb. I think this would be the most interesting scenario, because then she would hold some resentment against OJ. This would also explain how Cobweb knew OJ lost a child, maybe Cob had met her second-cousin once and noticed their absence when OJ took her in. Regardless of which one, in both of these scenarios, it’s shown she doesn't really treat Cobweb well. In a very Harpy Hare way, she protects Cob from the world, but that isn't anyway to raise a child. That is part of the reason Cob is so rebellious and so willing to meet up with Hazepaw; OJ is unintentionally putting Cobweb in more danger by trying to over-protect her. [next] What does any of this have to do with BSC? Well, assuming OJ successfully takes over Shadowclan and Skyclan, it would create a power vacuum. She isn't stupid enough to pull a Tigerstar and try to merge the two clans, especially with two clans left to take her down. Instead, she appoints a puppet leader, BSC. What is her relation to BSC? Why does she trust him enough to fill the role? I will try to explain those questions better in the other parts, but I’m not completely sure about either of them. [next] How do I know BSC is leader of Shadowclan? Well, I’m not certain, but it seems most likely regarding the information we have right now. Since we know Shadowclan will be defeated, it’s the POV clan, and another reason I'll talk about in Part 3, it seems the most likely pick. We do know for a fact, however, that they can’t be the present time leader of Windclan or Riverclan because we know the leaders for those already. [next] You may remember me talking about a cat above BSC in Part 1, and I think that cat is OJ. Despite the somber tone of the previous song, I believe he may hold some resentment towards OJ and might even try to overthrow her. Part Two of the theory complete!
