Description

I didn't want to owe her anything or make her spend her money on me so I shook my head no. She seemed a bit sad with my answer though, as if she had wanted to buy me something, I didn't know why she would wanna waste her money though. Ikari sighed, “I wanted to get ice cream with a friend, but you are my only friend….” Ikari said pitifully. I wondered when I had ever agreed to be her friend, but whatever. I could tell she was just acting sadder on purpose, but she looked like a lonely puppy, so I couldn't help but agree. I sighed and nodded, to her obvious delight, her fake sad act suddenly vanishing as if she was never sad in the first place, which she obviously wasn't anyway. “What kind of ice cream do you want?” She asked me, “Cold.” I responded sarcastically. It wasn't that funny, but she burst into laughter, “Ha! You know what I mean, Kitty, what flavor ice cream do you like?” She said. I noticed her walking in place as if she was too excited to stay still, which made me feel tired, seeing her use so much energy so easily. “Strawberry,” I told her simply. I didn't really trust or like her enough to want her to know anything about me, yet she already managed to learn two things about me, my age and my favorite ice cream flavor. I had thought I was really good at hiding stuff, but maybe I wasn't actually, Ikari smiled big, “Wait here!” she said before running off. It's not like I had anywhere else to go while I waited anyways, I was supposed to stay at the park until father was done with work. After what seemed like a few seconds, she came running back with two ice creams, one chocolate and one strawberry. I guess her favorite was chocolate, which didn't surprise me too much. By how fast she was running, I was a little impressed by how the ice creams didn't fall from her hands. Swiftly, she handed me the strawberry ice cream, “Kitty, you gotta eat it fast or it’ll melt! It's super hot today, mine already started to melt a bit!” She said quickly, then she bit into her ice cream. I instinctively recoiled away from her in disgust, she *bit* into her ice cream, without any hesitation too. I think she saw my dismay, because she burst into laughter, “Don't worry, Kitty, I don't have sensitive teeth or anything, it's fine.” She said between laughs, pausing on each word to try and stop laughing enough to speak. Her ice cream started to drip already, the hot summer sun seemed to be trying to turn us into puddles or something. She noticed as the ice cream started to drip onto her hand, and so she licked the cone where is was dripping, then she licked the ice cream, then bit it again. I turned away in disgust and licked my ice cream, making sure it didn't melt and drip. Luckily, I managed to eat all my ice cream without getting sticky at all. I noticed Ikari’s hands got sticky from holding the cone after the ice cream started to melt. I made a note to not let her touch me at all until she washed the stickiness from her hands. We both had eaten our ice cream quickly and sat on a bench at the park. Ikari had a brain freeze from biting into the ice cream so much, which didn't really surprise me. After her brain freeze started to get better, she turned towards me with a smile, “That was yummy, wasn't it?” Ikari asked me as if wanting my approval. I noticed that there was chocolate ice cream all over her mouth, but I didn't really point it out. I just nodded, not wanting to admit aloud that I ended up enjoying it because she seemed like the type of person to have an amused smile if I did say it aloud. She had the annoying, amused smile anyway. “You know…” She said, leaning towards me slightly, “Since I bought you ice cream, you should tell me your name.” She said, then paused for a second and smiled slyly, leaning away from me again “Unless you actually don't mind being called Kitty.” I just rolled my eyes, I did mind, but I’d rather not give her my name since I wasn't hoping to actually become friends with her. I didn't say anything, which she must’ve thought meant I didn't mind being called Kitty, or something like that, because she continued to talk and tease me about random things while using that silly nickname.
