Hello !! Welcome to my presentation on the black footed ferret! We'll start out with the basics: Black footed ferrets have been around for a while. They were thought to be extinct for the first time after farmers started killing the prairie dogs, which are not only their main food source, but the suppliers of their homes. However, they were discovered again after someone found a dead one after winter! They collected as many as they could (which wasn't that many) And tried to force-breed them to create more of a population. Unfortunately, the ferrets died again. And so, for a second time, the black footed ferrets were thought to be extinct. However, as sad in the project, a family living in a rural area had a dog who mistakenly killed one. They brought it in to be stuffed, and so the authorities ended up confiscating it. They have more ferrets now, however, and they have released a number of colonies into the wild. They are surviving well, but not as well as they used to be. All we can do for now is hope that they don't die again ;) Thank you for watching!! And reading ! ~jp
