Hii so don’t look at this unless you’re a VA it contains spoilers for the pilot episode of demented. scroll down for script. (This is also to help me storyboard it) I’ll be referring to a “camera”- this is like if it was live action where the camera would be. Also, if you VA Obel, More, or clove, I’m fine with you whisper-shouting. This took me over a two hours of brainstorming, writing and editing, so I really hope episode 0 turns out well. !! Spoilers below !! Open scene 1, close up of someone pouring a liquid into a glass test tube. Camera zooms out, we see muntjack holding the test tubes. Muntjack: (nervous) please don’t explode, please don’t explode, please don’t explode… (Knocking sounds, muntjack is surprised and accidentally mixes the two liquids together- explosion) Muntjack: (nervous, loud) c-come in. He frantically tries to clear away the mess. Door swings open, spear heads just visible. Camera swings to face the people who just broke in. Maren: (confused) what happened here? Muntjack: (still clearing mess) (frustrated, nervous) nothing.. just a spillage. Maren: (deadpan) yes, I can see that. Obel: PUT YOUR HANDS UP WHERE I CAN SEE THEM! (Muntjack flinches) Maren- (frustrated) let me handle this, Obel. Obel- (grumble) Maren- (deadpan, serious) we’ve had reports of a wingerd in this neighbourhood- we’re checking everyone, and so long as you have nothing to hide, you’ll be fine. (Muntjack twitches, and takes a step back. Obel looks at him curiously) Muntjack- (slightly scared) how are you going to check? I-I haven’t heard of a fool-proof way to check for wings.. Obel- (excited) we found one! All you need to do is- Maren- (tired-sounding) Obel.. nevermind. All you need to do is take a sip of this potion. We tested it on our prisoners- we know it works. (Muntjack’s eyes flash with terror, he stiffens) Maren- (deadpan, AGAIN) if you don’t drink it, we’ll lock you up anyways. Better safe than sorry. Muntjack- (terrified, trying to sound as deadpan as possible and failing) f.. fine. (He drinks the potion- it looks like soup. He starts to sprout wings out of his back, and tries to run. He is stopped by Obel) Obel- (furious) STOP RIGHT THERE! (Whispering) you’re lucky my father is here. If he wasn’t, you would be in the cages already. (Muntjack is forced into a corner) (Muntjack looks around for something to protect himself with, and notices the half-empty test tube he had spilt earlier. He throws it at Obel, who ducks, and it hits maren) Muntjack- (gasp) Obel- (scared, quiet voice) d..dad? Maren- (scared) I- I can’t see. (Serious) Obel, I trust you to take this creature (when you say “creature” say it really aggressively) to the cages while I see a doctor. Don’t disappoint me. (Maren walks off, a hand over his left eye) Obel- (serious) I won’t. (Angry) now come with me, wing-bearer. (Spit out the words “wing-bearer”) Muntjack (tired) alright. You win. (Muntjack is escorted out of the door, as he looks at the ground ashamed. Camera pans to him at the entrance of “the cages” and a white screen saying “previously” comes into veiw. This is More’s part of the prologue) (Closeup of a quill being dipped into ink, then a page being written on) Clove- (loud) (we can’t see her yet) PUT YOUR HANDS WHERE I CAN SEE THEM AND DROP EVERYTHING. (Zooms out to show More’s face. She looks tired) More- (exhausted) can’t you just give me a break? (She sighs, and goes back to writing) Clove- (slightly sympathetic) you ok? You look stressed. More- (frustrated, she snaps inside) DO I LOOK OK? JUST LEAVE. (Camera zooms out to show the entire room) (Clove takes a step back) Clove- (shocked) jeez, calm down. It’s fine. (More glares at her, but says nothing) Clove- (still slightly shocked) look, this’ll only take a second. Just take a sip of this potion. More- (no set voice, whatever you think sounds good) Looks like soup to me. Clove- (put off) well, it’s a potion, and you’re going to drink it. More- ..I don’t think so, no. (Spears from other guards force More to get up. She sighs, and kicks over the pot of liquid) Clove- (annoyed, serious) well, since you won’t prove you’re innocent, I’m afraid that ferals are guilty unless proven otherwise. You’re coming with us. (More looks at her desk, then the mass of guards gathered in the room) More- (annoyed) .. I’d like to see you try to get me to the cages. (She’s ushered out of the room, guards on all sides of her. Clover is at the front. A black screen slides into veiw. It’s the end of episode 0)
