[x] Hi there! Welcome to this scriptreading competition, a quick little challenge for voice actors! This will likely be a reoccurring competition, with a new script each time. This script is just a little something I whipped up, a small monologue from a child who's lost their way home. The implication is that their father and them fought, and they were dropped off in the middle of nowhere as punishment. They tried to wander back home on their own, but ended up getting lost. When their dad returned to find them, they was nowhere to be found. They make recordings on their phone adressed to their mother as a form of coping, hoping that one day they'll be able to speak with her in person again. Given the circumstances, the voice should be desperate, sad, perhaps even nostalgic at times. Add in anything else you believe fits! [x]
[x] DEADLINE: All entries are due on August 31. If you need an extension, I can grant one for up to a week. :) [x] HOW TO ENTER: Just remix this with your version of reading this script off inside of the project somewhere! I'd prefer if it played when I hit the flag, but I won't take points off if it doesn't lol. I'll listen to your audition on the day that the contest closes. ^-^ [x] PRIZES: 1st -- PG Follows, shoutout on my profile for 2 weeks, 5 loves, one free raffle ticket (I'll post a raffle project soon trust...) 2nd -- 1/2 PG Follows, shoutout on my profile for 1 week, one free raffle ticket, 5 loves 3rd -- One free raffle ticket, 5 loves [x] RULES: + You may only read the script to "Lost" for your entry. I will not grade any other scripts. + Do not guilt-trip me, it won't work. Do not shame or judge others, you will be disqualified. Just.. be kind, and have fun! It'll be easy, dw ^_^ + Read the script in its entirety. + Do not repost the script anywhere else. + Do not make edits of any kind to the script in your entry. [x] JUDGING: I am the sole judge of your acting. I'll be looking at the following factors: + Clarity (Are you speaking clearly and understandably?) + Emotion (How well can you express this just using your voice?) + Timing (Is is rushed? Too slow? Are you following along with the pauses (e.g. elipsis) written into the script?) + Humanity (Does it sound natural? Is that how someone in that situation would talk?) + I won't be judging mic quality, simply because not everyone has access to great microphones, but do try to use your best mic. Apple mics aren't too bad (but be aware that sometimes earbuds can mess up the quality!! They may try to use their own mics, which are sometimes a lot worse...) [x] If anyone would like to sign up to be a prizegiver, that would be cool.. Then I could offer more follows :D CURRENT PGS: @-Tinywillow- @Cattasia @MovieTheorist @Runaway-- @MinkDragon @_-CloudPuff-_ Also, I created the thumbnail art, and would appreciate if you asked first before using it for anything.
