I'm tired. I'm done. I'm mad, and I'm sad. No other community has left me with this much anger and resentment towards those bad apples (who make up most of it by the way) within this community. No site has left a more bitter taste in my mouth than none other than Scratch.mit.edu. @SamIsTheMostPog, my best friend on this site, amazing artist, talented coder, and fellow teenager was just banned due to mass report. Letting children run how a website's social system works is a terrible idea. Never do this in the future if you ever plan on making a website. All it does is make people who actually have a brain absolutely miserable. I tried to go on a reply rant in response to Sam’s announcement that he had been banned, and it banned me from commenting for 30 minutes because of “hurtful language.” THAT’S when it hit me. THAT’S when after 6 long years, I finally realized. This site’s moderation system is even worse than its community. It was fun as a kid because it’s aimed at kids, but once you become a teenager, it really loses its spark. You get mass reported by sheltered seven-year-olds at every turn; At the slightest hint of violence, at something the TINIEST bit scary, or even for no reason at all. It doesn’t feel good, and ST, if you see this, a safe haven for teenagers on this site would be greatly appreciated, but I doubt it’ll ever happen. It's this kinda crap. This kinda crap is the reason there's never any talented scratchers who stick around anymore. I've seen many people decide they were done over the years, so after this, I've decided that I'm done too.
I’ve reached my limit. I’ve joked about how terrible this site was for years, but Sam getting banned was the straw that broke the camel’s back. So, I’ve decided that I’m not starting any more projects. Once I finish my WIP projects, I’m done. I’ll still make games, but not here. “Here” isn’t a very enjoyable place. I have better places to do the things I love anyway. It's time I move on.
