DTA stands for Draw to Adopt. to enter for a character, you must draw them! then i'll choose a winner and they get to keep the character. new characters every month, please don’t enter for old ones! RULES!! ~use your own art! bases, picrews, AI, stealing, tracing, or copying are not allowed. ~any medium, traditional, digital, etc. is fine! ~you can redesign the character/change species as long as it's still recognizable! ~collabs aren't allowed to give artists working on thier own a fair chance. however co-owns are totally fine! ~don’t guilt trip or get upset if you don’t win, i want these characters to inspire you to make something and have fun! ~you can enter for as many characters as you like, but only win up to 3 a year! ~feel free to make your own rotating DTA or pet cafe DTA, i don't own the concept! good luck and thank you! Click for the next art Near the far side of the kingdom, lay a bright red house with white window shutters. A sharp piercing cry echoed off the walls ´´ You’re no match for me anymore. ´´. Giggles mounted like a storm from the house loud enough to scare a monster ´´ How come I beat you last time?´´ Inside the house was a young brown cat with the name of Venus; her brother Syrup battling her in swordplay slashing sharply. Though 5 years younger Venus was rapidly progressing soon to beat her brother. ´´You will be defeated at my hand’´ she shrieked Syrup giggled ‘ We will see about that’ 5 years later Venus sighed ´´ Syrup, do you think Mom will let me join the army like you? ´´ ´´ I Will support you either way ´´ Syrup calmly responded. Venus hugged her brother and slowly got up from the couch and walked to greet her mother. ´´Mom, you want the best for me right? You want me to follow my dreams and passion…´´ ´Yes dear’´ ´´May I join the army?´´ Venus ventured Her mothers warm face became twisted with a sudden fear. Her kind features became sharp like knifes. ´Haven’t we discussed this, I said No!’’. Venus backed away in fear and slunk into her bedroom crying. It was her passion! It was her destiny! She would serve her kingdom with her very last breaths, she would fight until she collapsed, why couldn’t her mom see that. Syrup got the privilege to be in the army, so why not her?! Why was life so unfair. 2 days later. Venus hugged Syrup tightly ‘I’m going to miss you so much’’ A tear slid down Syrups cheek ‘I love you so much sister,’’ Venus laughed hiding her pain and sorrow ‘ You come back every time so it’s not time for goodbyes’’ Syrup hugged her and began to walk towards his unit. He turned back towards Venus ‘Never give up, my fight is for your fight!’’ The siren blared as the troops departed leaving the crowd in the dust. Venus’s mom turned towards her ‘Always turns out good’ she said as if comforting herself. As they began to walk home, Venus’s friend Grain ran towards her ‘ I finally tried pickles!’’ Venus laughed as Grain trotted with them explain the wonders of pickles 3 days later Snow was falling leaving a white trail of bliss. ‘How many more days until Syrup returns?’’ Venus questioned her mom. ‘I don’t know honey. How many are you hoping for’’ ‘None!’ Venus exclaimed. A Sharp pounding hit the door as sandy fur pounded on the door. ‘Looks like Grain’’ Her mother called as Venus bounded towards the door. Grain burst in like a hurricane with a huge hug for Venus. Laughs echoed of the walls as Mom trotted out of the house. Time felt like nothing as Grain and Venus played leaving them unexpecting the departure. A few minutes later a loud pounding knock rocketed through the door. Incomprehensible murmures we’re could be heard and the loud gasp of mom. As the door closed, Venus crept on her mother ‘What’s wrong?’’ ‘Oh honey, I don’t know how to say this but’’ her mother continues sadly ‘Syrup has gotten hurt’’ 7 years ago ‘Go away! Don’t you dare touch my sister again!’’ Syrup yelled to a grey cat named Pine. Venus sniffled ‘Yeah you bully!’’ Pine backed away with a frightened glance at Syrups angered face. ‘Thanks big brother’’ Venus shoving into a hug. ‘’Anything for you’’ 2 days later After days of mourning for her brother; the day of his arrival back home finally arrived. Soft food steps echoed along the house as Venus flung herself into him. Syrup looked the same with his light brown fur and blue eyes. ‘Woah sis Watch the paw’’ Venus looked toward him in a pitying glance at his missing paw before bursting into tears. His paw was gone leaving a single stub where his left front leg should be. ‘ How did it happen?’’ Venus asked Syrup glanced at mom ‘ I’ll tell you later’’ Together Syrup and Venus wandered towards Venus’s room. ‘I have suspections, that can’t be shared yet’’ Syrup said gravely. ‘ I will get you some tea, then you can tell me your story’’ Venus said thoughtfully She wandered down the stairs and paused. Mom was sitting at a table in her small office with a paper reading ‘How to successfully rid’. ‘Odd’ Venus thought, but mom had always been odd. Her conscious mind ignored this detail but something in her subconscious mind clicked : The mysterious disappearances, Syrups injury, the book, not wanting Venus to join the army. What was this plan? Venus ran upstairs in a hurry untrusting. Who could she trust? Grain, who had left a few minutes before the News? Pine who had been a bully? Yes, Syrup. Syrup she could trust. Venus wandered up the stairs worried ‘Syrup?’’ ‘Yes? You found out’’ Venus entered the room and sat beside Syrup. ‘How to rid.’’ ‘How to rid me.’’ Syrup whimpered looking at his missing paw in pain. “Together” Down below Mom heard, she dashed from the house leaving the kingdom in war 2 months later Now honorably discharged from the army Syrup was left unemployed “it’s all just a scheme”
