Askaria was a nation in decline, although it had plenty of natural resources, the previous government was too corrupt and isolationist to sell said resources. The country is in a bad drought and Askaria's fate is at the mercy of newly-appointed Gugsa.Gugsa was a new elect leader appointed only last year, he is beginning a new campaign to begin drilling oil in west Askaria and East Island colonies obtained in the 1890 Kolonie war. The army was outfitted and up to modern standards, but at what cost? The nation is in large decline from economic recession, but many have faith in Gugsa. The navy has been docked and the air force grounded. Populism is rising with Gugsa in power and the nation might get jobs soon too.
