Instructions

Hailey is a normal thirteen year old girl when she happens to find a secret portal in the forest nearby her house. The portal leads to a secret coexisting world. She is soon drawn to Yeliah, a Nord. They become best friends and are inseparable, but only get to see each other when on the secret side of the portal. (Yeliah can’t go, her parents don’t let her. Hailey’s parents don’t know about it, and think she goes to school everyday.) Later, they both find out that they have the elemental powers that nobody else has. They don’t know why. They decide to make their way to a wizard called Mago three days away. Mago tells them that they share a soul. They have been reincarnated into two different bodies, because the one that their soul was in previously had split it. They are told how to split a soul, and given a special necklace to hold the soul they’ll give to their previous body. They go on a journey to find their previous body. They’re just told to follow their gut. Eventually, they find a young man, unburied in a tree house way up high and hidden. They sit down and focus on their within to start splitting their soul. They use a special chant, and one third of each soul goes into the necklace. They release the soul into the young man’s body, and he awakens. They ask him why he split their soul in the first place, and what the powers were about. He tells them that he did it so they wouldn’t have the powers. He thought that if he split their soul, the powers would go away into another soul. But it seems that they also split into two. Hailey and Yeliah ask him why they shouldn’t have the powers, and he tells them that they’re vulnerable to very dangerous hunters (who were elves) who would kill them and suck the power out of their soul after trapping it, and use them for bad. The only way to stop them is to kill them and their evil souls off entirely. They ask him how to kill a soul, as they thought souls were immortal. He tells them that if you kill their bodies, and then trap their souls and bring them to an underground cell, their souls have no escape and have to stay in there, and they can’t get to another body. Souls are nothing without a body. But the thing is, souls are invisible. They ask him how they’re supposed to see the souls. He gives them both special goggles that help them see souls, which take the shape of a humanoid body, but have no humanoid-like features besides that. So the man gives them their soul back, and he is once again a non-living body. They go out looking for the hunters, prepared to kill. They find their base, and poison their drinks for their next meal, using powerful sedatives and drugs. This puts them to sleep, and they kill each one of them with their weakness, a special type of crystal that elves are deathly allergic to because it sucks out their soul. They put one of them in each of the hunter’s hands, and they retrieve their souls. They then go on a journey to take them to the cell. They use a map that they found in the hunters base. They put the souls there, and leave them. They go back to Yeliah’s home, and her parents just casually say hi. They’re used to her being gone on adventures for days. Hailey says goodbye to her for now, and goes home to see a poster stating that she was missing. She runs to a police station to turn herself in, and they call over her parents. She has an excuse planned in her head (that she was at her Aunt Rose's house), but her parents only care that she’s back and safe. They go home, and Hailey swears to herself she’ll only be gone on the other side of the portal during school hours or at night. Preferably at night, so that she doesn’t miss any more school.
