Today I finished watching Jewelpet Kira☆Deco! It was actually a really cool season! But today, I feel like ranking the seasons of Jewelpet that I finished. 1st Place: Jewelpet Twinkle☆ This season is currently the best in my opinion. One of the reasons includes the diversity within the main human characters (Akari's from Japan, Miria's from America, Sara's from India, Leon's from Austria, and Nicola's from Russia). Another one is how there are multiple spells that have certain functions (Rangula can move objects in a certain way, Rillilit can make you become another person, Rimlashka can multiply objects [I advise you not to use that spell on money] etc.) and not just one. The storyline is also very easy to understand and follow, What else could outrun the goal to get 12 Jewelstones and become the Jewelstar? And the way they go to Jeweland somewhat gives the same feeling as when you enter a website. 2nd Place: Jewelpet Kira☆Deco! This is the season I finished today and it's actually a really cool one. The Members of the Kira☆Deco5 even helped me understand a bit of Japanese Geography (Mount Akagi, Saitama Prefecture, etc.) Not to mention, It was fun to see the characters search for the Decostones that they need to save the Earth from dark swirly clouds. However, the Kira☆Deco5's gender ratio feels a little too similar to Thomas & Friends' original steam team (Pink's the only girl member, kinda like Emily before Nia & Rebecca existed) But it's still really cool in a few ways. 3rd Place: Jewelpet 1. The "1" part was only added because there aren't any additional words, which makes sense since it was the first season. I was able to build a small vocabulary thanks to the subtitles. In terms of character design, I think I liked the characters from other seasons better than this one. The music on the other hand is probably some of the best I've heard. 4th & Last Place: Jewelpet Sunshine. Since each season after 1 has it's own genre, this one kinda ruined me a bit. To start, the storyline was really hard to undestand at first. [the Sunshine Academy's Plum Class is striving to Graduate] The partnering mechanism is completely confusing, as in this season Jewelpets can only have Human Partners via being roomates or strong friendship. Trying to make a main Human trio is almost completely impossible because not only Garent & Sapphie have no partners, Hinata Asaka (who is TECHNICALLY the deutragonist) has Peridot as a partner, and Shouko Aizawa usually hangs out with either Angela or Charotte; therefore, Kanon Mizushiro (our Protagonist) would be all by herself. And no, her friends Komachi Saotome and Kaede Kikuchi won't work in this case either for reasons that are too long to fit here. But in the end, Sunshine is actually pretty decent. Tomorrow I will start watching Jewelpet Happiness! I've seen some spoilers before, but I'm now ready to have a proper experience. Like the previous, I'll do 2 episode a day. Since there's a fandub with 2 episodes ready so far, I'll watch them today before hearing them in Japanese.
