Like every morning, Aspenpaw woke up to Vinepaw tapping him. Instead of resisting and falling back to sleep like he usually did, he got up soon after Vinepaw's wake-up tap. He had a good feeling about today. Y/N was behind him. Aspenpaw realized in shock that he felt different about her today. He noticed that she was looking a bit down. "Hey. Are you alright?" He asked. She frowned. "Why do you care?" Y/N asked. That was a good question. Why DID he care? "I... Don't know?" Y/N sighed. "I guess I could tell you... I wasn't born in FlowerClan. I was born in LakeClan. I was forced to leave my home and family. I don't really like it here and I miss my family..." Y/N said miserably. He looked at her. He didn't know that she had to suffer through so much. He didn't feel like torturing her anymore. Aspenpaw curled his fluffy tail around Y/N, hoping to comfort her. "Is this some kind of joke? Are you trying to torture me by pretending to care?" She asked. "No..." He sighed. He always tortured the new apprentices, and he wished it didn't have to be any different. They awkwardly walked side by side to the training clearing. A playful grin came onto Aspenpaw's face and jokingly stuck out his tail. As Y/N noticed, she smiled and pretended to trip over it. They laughed as they walked together to training. *I guess we are on better terms now...* Y/N thought with a smile. "The apprentice army grows bigger every day..." Aspenpaw said with a sigh as a new apprentice, Thunderpaw, was hopping around, talking to Stripepaw, the medicine cat apprentice. Thunderpaw quickly noticed them and ran over to the two of them super fast. "Aspenpaw! You found a girlfriend, AND DIDN'T TELL ME????" They yelled in shock as they observed Y/N. "Girlfriend...?" Y/N asked Thunderpaw. "Yeah! You're his girlfriend........ right?" They answered. "Uh, NO." Aspenpaw said as he shoved Thunderpaw away, not even caring when they landed in the sand painfully. "STRIPEPAW!!!!!!!!!!" Thunderpaw yelled excitedly as they got up, running in circles around Stripepaw. "What...?" Stripepaw asked, annoyed by Thunderpaw's energy and clinginess. "I just remembered about that dance that Blackstar arranged! WE SHOULD TOTALLY GO TOGETHER!!!!!" They exclaimed, running around him again. "No." Stripepaw answered plainly but emotionally hurtfully. Thunderpaw ran away sadly. Meanwhile, with Aspenpaw and Y/N... Aspenpaw heard Stripepaw and Thunderpaw's conversation. He blushed a bit. *I wonder what Y/N would say if I asked her,* he thought. And they continued awkwardly walking to training together.
