Laini was still in shock when she woke up. She immediatley shot up growling before realizing she was in a den laced in dry plants. Laini shook her head looking around the familiar space realizing it was the den in which she lived with Matope, Chungwa, and her sisters. Laini flicked her ears, sniffing the air to smell the familiar scents around her. She heard pawsteps in the den but this time Laini was less scared she knew here she would be safe, she just- needed to know if her sisters were safe aswell. A fawn colored lioness trotted into the den with a concerned look on her face highlighted by nervous chocolate tipped ears. This was Laini's mother and the queen, queen Thunder, "Laini, your awake?" She growled softly in concern for her young cub. "Y-Yes! I'm ok- I think- Wheres Kujali and Zamaradi? Are they safe? What happened?" Laini nervously padded up to her mother scraping an unsheathed claw against the cold stone beneath her paws. Thunder looked back at her with a sigh of relief, "Follow me, we're going to see Mtende," Laini tilted her head why would they go see the royal mjuzi? Well it wasn't her place to say anything. She trusted her mother. Laini scrambled out of the den revealing the dry brush of the savanna outside of the den and she knew exactly where they were headed as it was one of the places she would stay. The pink-gray cub and her sisters barely ever left some animal they trusted. She padded after her mother her paws crunching in faded green-ish yellow grass a tell-tale sign of the dry season. Dawns light shined down on the Pridelands a sign of beauty after the events of the previous day. "We're here," Thunder nodded her head at the entrance of the cavern, Laini looked up at the mass of pride rock before going inside trotting beside her mother. Laini looked up in delight as she saw two cubs leaping straight torwards her, "Laini! Are you okay? Are you hurt!? Thank you- thank you- I would-ve died-" Kujali fumbled with her words until the cream colored cub gasped for breath. Zamaradi gave the scarred cub a lick on the face before turning to Laini, "W-What was that?" She slightly pinned her ears back but Laini quickly realized it was directed to Thunder and not herself. Her mother sighed turning around looking up at a new face in the den a lion with gray fur and an even darker scraggly mane which seemed like it had never fully grown. "Storm, so you heard it too?" Thunder tilted her head. Laini recognized this new face as her aunt, Storm. Storm looked down at Laini, "She was right I suppose, Mtende was so sure it would be Panzi," She looked up, "Where is Mtende and Mimea anyway?" Thunder rolled her eyes and sighed, "You sure you want to tell the cubs-" Storm cut her sister off. "The roar is back and I can't deny it, we can't deny it. Even if more danger comes upon them- even if it requires more sacrifices..." She looked down at the floor, Laini noticed the somber expression on Storm's face one of grief, one she could recognize. "What are you even going to tell them! her!" Storm suddenly snapped as if realizing what her sister was like, "Sometimes your insane! Your planning something aren't you! You've been way too quiet!" Thunder just stared at Storm in surprise, "You don't have to worry! They'll be in your paws right? Aren't you still the bravest? The survivor?" Thunder half-way smirked holding back laughter. Right before Storm could rebuttal a dark colored female mandrill walked into the den, "Patience you children! Patience!" She snapped at the royal sisters quickly shutting them up, "I know why you're here and I know your able to explain all this to them yourself," Mtende sighed shaking her head turning it slowly to look at the 3 cubs patiently sitting, waiting. Laini carefully observed the caverns around her paintings lined the walls with small creeks going through cracks in the stone, small amounts of plants creeping through aswell. "Laini, what exactly happened yesterday?" Laini instantly knew what the mandrill was talking about, "Well we were surrounded by rogue lionesses th-the same ones which previously attacked us. I got so angry, so worried that I would lose more siblings- and suddenly eveyrthing was so loud and I was so tired-" Mtende put her palm over Laini's mouth. "So you really don't remember much? Zamaradi what did you see?" The purple-gray cub confidently replied to the royal mjuzi's question, "Well this lioness was lunging at me and suddenly Laini just- made a roar so loud- supernaturally strong the lionesses they- they flew away in the strong winds," "There were the faces of lions in the clouds," Kujali quietly added. Storm quickly looked at Mtende before they both nodded as if agreeing to something. Thunder suddenly broke the silence, "They're ready,".
