So. Furry hate. Its everywhere, really. And what i don't get is WHY IT EVEN EXISTS IN THE FIRST PLACE AAAAAAAAAA- So before you ask, Yes, i am a furry, An open furry now, i used to hide that im a furry because of furry hate. And now i am open about it. First, Furries are not therians, Im not gonna talk about therians here because i dont know much about them, if you want to know about therians then find a project about them. Anyways, A furry is basically someone who likes to draw anthropomorphic animals, What is that? Basically an animal on two legs, think of Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny, They are anthropomorphic animals, Other furries like to make fursuits of their anthropomorphic animal characters, Most furries have a fursona, I have one, Her name is Shelly, but this isn't about Shelly, this is about Furry Hate. So you might be thinking, Why would people hate on furries if this is all they do? Well, my friend, some people think furries do some things that i cant say on Scratch, Some people also think they act like animals or think they are animals or bark in your faces or things like that. No. Thats not what a furry is. And why do these misconceptions go around? Well people like to write articles or stories or make videos about furries doing awful things, even though most of the furry fandom doesn't do that. These are posted because scary article/video = views go bonkerz. Also, another misconception i shall address, Not all people who draw anthropomorphic animals are furries, Not all people who draw feral animals (those are animals who walk on all 4 legs) are furries. Its a choice, You can do all the things furries do and not be a furry, Its about whether you CONSIDER yourself one. You don't have to be a furry or even support them, just like, DONT HARRASS/BE MEAN/INSULY FURRIES FOR BEING FURRIES. Also, some people assume you are a furry because you draw anthros (short for anthropomorphic animals) or even feral animals and hate on you for it, A reminder, Dont leave the fandom just because some rude people decided to ruin your day irl or online. Even if like, a family member hates furries, keep the fact that you're a furry a secret from them. Also, if you find a furry hater, IRL or online, educate them on what a furry actually is, whether it be with this project, your words, or somewhere else (that doesn't lie to get more views). And like, think about what you say, What you say to others DOES affect them, wether it be IRL or online. I've wanted to open up about being a furry for a while at school, but my classmates hate furries and i'd get bullied for it so i kept it a secret and still am. Some people have been bullied out of this fandom, and it sucks! Please, even if you dont support furries or arent a furry, just dont be a jerk, and treat others how YOU want to be treated, Okay?
