~Basic Bio~ Name: Zeke Antelucanus (Zeke means shooting star, symbolizing his journey, and Antelucanus means daybreak in Latin, representing his escape from Neofelis.) Pronouns: xey/xem/xeir (AMAB) Questioning orientation and gender identity. --- The time is deep in the future, when humans have gone extinct and cats have become the dominating species on Earth due to their adaptability and mammal brain. After uncovering ancient human space technology, they studied and improved it to colonize farther than the Solar System. Zeke lives on a tiny planet, known as Neofelis, in the Nebulosa Galaxy. (Because Neofelis nebulosa is a clouded leopard and sounds spacey.) However, xey weren't born here, and instead were found in a strange capsule that crashed on the planet. The colony on Neofelis has a rigid social structure, where sons will take on the professions of their fathers and daughters will take on the professions of their mothers, whether they like it or not. (This rule applies to birth gender and not identity, sorry. I’m trying to make this world seem strict and conforming. ._.) Zeke was given to the Antelucanus family, who had a daughter but no son. That way, the father's profession would be passed down. Mr. Antelucanus was an architect, and trained Zeke in the skill since xey were old enough to fully understand words and numbers. Though Zeke somewhat enjoyed designing buildings, xey truly found passion in designing and repairing starships. At night, Zeke pored over engineering books. During xeir break days, xey fixed the neighbors' spaceships for free, of course in secret. (Note: A spaceship is only fit for travel within a solar system and is commonly owned by civilians. A starship is suited to travel through space for an extended amount of time and can be self-sustaining.) When xeir parents found out, they were furious. Zeke was breaking multiple rules, and if the government had found out, the Antelucanuses would be fined at best. They burned all of Zeke's engineering books, and in one night, destroyed xeir dream of becoming an engineer. Buteke had a photographic memory, and the books were imprinted in xeir mind. Zeke would mutter or think the words to xemselves as xey did menial chores or tried to fall asleep. No matter how great xeir efforts were to make xeir family(xey had no friends) realize the repressiveness of Neofelis's society, xey were only hushed up by xeir parents. Only Zeke's sister believed xem, because like Zeke, she had never really fit in. Ancora(meaning anchor, refuge, hope, and support) was the only person who saw and understood. Zeke vented to her, and she listened without interruption or judgement. She helped find solutions to his problems. She helped him open up and realize his feelings. Ancora was the first and only person Zeke talked to when xey were confused about xeir gender and orientation. It was Ancora who bought Zeke xeir top-tier goggles, having saved up the wages of her apprentice teaching job over the span time of many years. She was the only reason xey hadn't tried fleeing from Neofelis by xemself, because she refused to leave her parents behind. But after a quite literally star-crossed encounter, Zeke might have to choose between staying with her ... or the only chance xey'll ever have to fulfill xeir dream...
