I wanted to try writing the start of this story atleast for writing practice with emotions and personality, if I write more there will be much more descriptions of the Pridelands and much more. Also fight scene. Ill name my story sometime I swear Prologue A cub ran through the brush pink-gray fur bristled her heart thumping against her chest. She started running faster sprinting as fast as she could until she reached a gray-brown stone as tall as a zebra. "Ha! I won this time Zamaradi!" A darker purple-ish pink gray lioness cub smirked from the top of the rock, "I actually am pretty sure that I won that race," Zamaradi smirked smiling affectionatley at the pink-gray cub. A third cub raced out of the brush this time a lighter more tan colored cub covered with scars on torn ears and half a tail, "Zamaradi! Laini wait up!" The smaller cub gasped completely out of breathe. "Kujali!" Laini yipped her ears pinning a little bit back in surprise. Zamaradi rolled her eyes smiling, "Come on guys! Climb up to the top already before it turns night and mom yells at us," Laini started to scramble up the side of the rock taking careful steps up cracks in the stone walls until reaching the flat top sitting next to her sister staring up at the glorious sunset. Laini smiled when Kujali sat right down next to her the tan cub gave her a soft smile back. Her smile completely faded after hearing a rustle in the bushes. Kujali was the first to panic yipping hiding behind Zamaradi, a look of terror on her small face. Laini was frozen in fear not moving, her heart pounding in her small chest but she didn't dare even breathe she didn't want to make a sound, she didn't want to lose another, maybe they should've stayed near Pride Rocks like their parents told them. Zamaradi after glancing at her two siblings nervously put herself in front of them as if it was her duty to protect her slightly younger sisters. "Whos there! Show yourselves nasty flies! W-we're not scared," Her strong voice quickly turned really small and quiet. Laini sniffed the air, maybe she was wrong- maybe it was just a sable antelope or a hyrax, maybe an aardvark or okapi but no it was the smell of multiple lionesses and from every direction. "We're going die..." She cried shaking, Kujali snuggled up to her sister in similar fear. Zamaradi stepped forward she had to fight, she had to be loud, and she had to protect her siblings even if they got away and she wouldn't be able to she would be like Panzi their late brother and littermate. A lioness creeped out of the tall grasses surrounding the rocks, "Well, hello cubs, hows your brother?" Crooked teeth jagged out of the dark orange lionesses jaw giving her a gravelly, creepy voice. Another lioness crawled out of a different patch of tall grass on another side of the flat rock her gray-brown fur unkempt leaving an ugly look on her face, "Oh wait! Hes dead!" A third lioness crawled out of the shadows this one missing almost an entire ear leaving scars on her light cream pelt she was cackling the whole time. The cubs were absolutley petrified, but Zamaradi still stepped forward, "What do you want this time! Why do you want us dead!" She snapped channelling her fear into anger at that very moment. "What do we want with the royal cubs!? Leverage, power, so many things you small ones cant and will never comprehend," The first lioness smirked staring directly into the purple-gray cubs eyes. That was when Kujali started to slip off the rock shrieking in absolute horror as the third lioness tried to snap at her. Laini finally snapped out of it realizing her sister was right in dangers way she lunged biting down as hard as she could on the lionesses muzzle. Kujali quickly scrambled back up on the rock still in quite the shock but she shook her head bracing herself to fight back. Zamaradi looked back at the commotion, distracted. The first lioness leaped forward. Laini immediatly turned to Zamaradi letting go of the lionesses muzzle, no she had to be faster, even faster, she had to save her sister no matter what. A rogue lioness would not take another of her siblings! Laini felt a sudden rush as she pushed Zamaradi away from the lioness in front of her the lionesses now in a V shape with this lioness being the tip of the iceberg. And thats when it happened so suddenly the loud noise the feeling in her chest, lions in the clouds, well atleast that was the last thing she remembered before passing out that day. Just, hopefully- her sisters were safe.
