In September 2008, It was announced that Corus Entertainment was given approval by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to launch two specialty channels from YTV, YTV OneWorld (for international children's shows from around the world) and YTV Pow! (an internationally sourced kids' action, adventure and superhero genre), they were approved in the same time. The YTV OneWorld thingy was used to launch Nickelodeon Canada.
