My redesign of the scratch ideas page, made for "Re-Thinking the Ideas Page" studio. Click to iterate between images. Here are some of the ideas I have: - Templates: These are different to the normal tutorials, in that rather than having a video to watch and instructions, a new project will be created that automatically has the code, costumes and sounds to get you started on the activity. - A search bar: This will allow you to quickly find whatever you're looking for on the ideas page. - Different levels of difficulty: Currently, the ideas page is mostly made for very new users, but it would be great if more advanced scratchers could also get use out of this page. Everything on the ideas page could be sorted into beginner, intermediate and advanced levels of difficulty. - Time needed: It would be useful if next to all activities on the ideas page, there was an estimate of the time range required to complete the activity. Of course, each activity's required time would vary depending on the user, but it would still be nice. - Ideas: What if there was a section that just had general, broad ideas for projects you could create? This section wouldn't have templates or tutorials, it would just be something like "Create a racing game". Scratchers could scroll through this section when they're finding it hard to think of what to create. Some times I feel like using scratch, but I can't think of what to make, so this could definitely be useful! - Forums: It might be useful if something like the help with scripts forum was accessible with each tutorial, template and idea. However, it could be a bit more like the comments section on a scratch project. For instance, if a scratcher is having trouble understanding where to start on something in the ideas section of the ideas page, they could post a comment saying "I don't understand...". Then, other scratchers who see the comment may be able to help, and could respond with a solution/explanation. - Contributable: It should be possible for people to create and share their own tutorials templates and ideas! I'm not exactly sure how this could work... please comment if you have any ideas!
