The Salamander King/An HP Fanfic/ Chapter 1 "EVEREST!" I jolted awake then smiled. Father must have found the surprise I left him. I made my way downstairs to find my Niffler(Sasha) on the dining table- along with the tie-dyed undershirts of my fathers I had left on it. "Morning daddykins. Like your new clothes?" I asked this innocently, knowing it would set him off even more. "/These/ are my /work/ clothes. Why on God's green earth would you do this to me?" I pretended to think. "Cause you're so stuck up and need to have a little fun? Besides, those aren't your work clothes. These are brand new, I bought them yesterday." Father stared at me stewing in anger. Then the tension left him and he shook his head. "Whatever am I going to do with you? Sometimes I swear you're Newts kid." "Yeah but, I'm yours. But it's all good. We balance each other out." "Indeed." Father picked up Sasha then handed her to me. "Don't forget, we're going over to your uncle's for supper later. Please don't be late." "I make no promises. But I will try my darndest." "Darndest?" "Yeah, Muggle slang. Can I get dressed now? I got places to be and this hair won't perfect itself." "Yes. Don't get into any major trouble today, okay?" "Sir yes sir." I gave a mock salute. "Get out of here." He said with a laugh. I ran up to my room and got dressed. Grey jeans, navy blue shirt and tan jacket- my signature. I loaded my satchel with the usual and made my way back downstairs. I decided to do something I hadn't done in a while, hug my father. "Don't say a word, just enjoy it." I tousled his hair then grabbed an apple and started on my daily journey. In case you were wondering, my father is only tough because he is a big deal. His work demands a lot from him, even if he can't give them what they want. But he's a people pleaser and perfectionist. He is after all, Theseus Scamander.
