Near and Far ~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 1 Astro bounded under a desk noisily. She stopped when she saw a brown clump of fur. Astro sing sang, “I know you are here!” Dark popped out from beneath a bush. The eevees were playing hide and seek. Dark was a few days from getting released in the Wild. That was 5 months away for Astro. “Dark?” A voice said. Dark looked at Astro. “It’s time!” Chapter 2 Astro softly said, “Goodbye, Dark.” Dark nodded. As Dark was scooped up, he said, “I’ll see you again one day, Astro!” Astro could just watch as Dark was released. She bounded up against a window. “Goodbye…” ……….. It had been 3 months since Dark left. Astro had grown, and had missed him. A new Eevee called Splash had come. Splash’s fur was always the wrong way. His tail was always wagging and he had bright blue eyes. He always begged Astro to play with him. Astro often did. It was 9 months until Splash’s release date. Astro wouldn’t be there to see it. Time dragged by. Suddenly, it was Astro’s release day. But it was a month too early! Astro began to panic. What was wrong? Astro yelped as she was tossed out. Not gently put out like the other eevees. SPLASH Astro hit the river and frantically began churning her paws. As she reached the surface she whimpered. What else was going to happen? Chapter 3 Astro dragged herself to the riverbank. She felt unsafe near the shelter, now. She ran as fast as her little paws could take her. A few hours later, it was nightfall. Astro was hungry and lost. She collapsed on the ground. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. …………………… Something nudged Astro. Astro mumbled then turned. It nudged her harder. Then Astro scented something. It smelled like a rainy night. “Dark?” Astro said. She opened her eyes and looked around. No one was there. Then, who had nudged her? “hello.” A voice said, “you probably are confused. i am Kind. you are Astro, correct?” Astro stuttered, “Y-yes.” “good.” The voice continued, “i need your help. i am a ghost now,” Astro shuddered, “but someone has done wrong. He is a Jolteon. his name is Stormshowers. he stole my amulet. the one that i need to move into the afterlife. i do not know where Stormshowers is, but please help me. or i am destined to haunt you eternally.” Astro gulped. She nodded, not wanting to be haunted forever. “Ok,” Astro said, “I will find the amulet.” THE END…
