TW: mentions of dead animals Prologue The last rays from the sun had vanished, leaving a clear dark sky speckled with stars. The only lights were the stars above and the glowing crystal at the nest. The flixlits had just began to emerge from their homes, and covered the coasts with their shimmering feathers. Procyon had just left the nest with the rest of the flock to forage, her silver feathers glimmering in the moonlight. Jayshrike was supposed to guard the nest, but decided to come with Procyon. The flixlits fed on large seaweeds, as well as a dead Hygos carcass they found. Procyon decided to go catch a fish instead of eating the seaweed or the Hygos carcass. Jayshrike, the blue flixlit, flew next to her. "Not interested in the seaweed?" he said, chuckling. "Uh- no, it doesn't really taste good" Procyon had responded. Soon the first stars had faded and the flock had flew back to their nests. Procyon and Jayshrike finally made it, but something didn't seem right. There were only two eggs in the nest, there was three before they had left, but there was no broken eggshells, nothing. It was as if the egg had suddenly disappeared. They were silent, this usually never happened, most predators would probably crush the whole nest and make a mess everywhere, but no. This one was gone. Procyon had quietly started to sob, jayshrike tried to reassure her, but he couldn't get her mind off the lost egg.
Oh God that was a long wall of text Anyways uhh I'm not really good at writing so uh- I didn't really like some parts Anyways I'm gonna be working on Bellatrix's story now so yayyyy!!!!
