backstory! it's really fast paced but idk i gotta get my ideas out solace had hid his rare, dangerous ability to control and manipulate electricity and fire since birth, terrified of becoming the monster that beings like him were rumored to be. despite his determination to suppress his powers, the dangerous yet enticing beauty of it proved irresistible. so, when he took his first assignment as a patrol guard, solace would often slink into the hidden corners of the city and watch the bright sparks spring up his arm, reaching out to watch the blinding lights swirl and dance in the air. until one day he couldn't anymore, when patrol guards were assigned in pairs. solace found himself paired with a sweet, kind cat named _, whose talkative nature provided a welcome distraction to his urges. while the temptation to unleash his power subsided, his feelings for her grew. but as the muted struggle in solace's head grew, it slowly became unbearable. so, on a rare day off, he finally clambered up onto the rooftop of his workplace and lifted his paw up. first came the dazzling sparks, and then the bursts of blinding electricity, and soon solace had his own little firework show. lost in the beauty of his power, solace failed to notice the sound of approaching pawsteps, climbing up to the roof. a horrified shriek shattered solace's awe, and he swiftly turned around to be met with a wide-eyed and horrified _. panicked, solace stepped towards her and tried to explain, but she twisted away, sprinting towards the stairwell. in a frenzied panic, solace sprang after _, pinning her down and shouting over her screams. in her desperate struggle, she'd managed to hook her claws onto solace's arm and he let go, surprised. _ broke free, stumbling away, with a teary-eyed solace chasing fast behind her. but she didn't make it to the stairwell. solace had, in his frightened state, sent explosions in all directions, his fur glowing with electricity. and then he realized what he'd done. eh that's it lol
