Instructions

DO NOT USE THIS BOOK COVER BECAUSE IT BELONGS TO MY FRIEND. Fullscreen recommended TITLE AND AUTHOR NAME REMOVED FOR PRIVACY Ok, so my friend is an amazing Christian writer who has written (but not published...yet) multiple books which are absolutely hilarious. Includes the cringey first version bc funny. She also said it's fine for me to share this. Here are some tutorials that I learned a lot from: Drawing the fire: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/yRuUxRCiuRY Drawing the faces: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/tjFseBal2_4 Drawing the cityscape: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/OW9Gr2y0V-s Drawing hands: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/hUVsnUTRViE

Description

->>> Click to see next The story (of the art, not the book): I myself am a writer and am working on a fantasy series. When my series is ready to be published, I plan on illustrating it myself mostly because I'm an artist but also so I don't have to pay for someone else to do it lol. Hoping to gain experience on illustrating books, I offered to illustrate one of my writer friend's books for free. She agreed, so I jumped into it immediately. At first, it went fine. But my motivation began to wear off, it wasn't looking as good as I hoped, and I even considered just giving up on it. Eventually, as I settled into a new art style, I decided to give it another go. I finished the cringey cover as fast as I could (to have a backup handy) and completely remade the cover design. Once again, I lost motivation because it just didn't look that good. Recently, I was hit with another HUGE wave of motivation and redid parts of the art I had already. It actually didn't look bad. Encouraged and armed with way too much motivation, I finished it in two days. The same cover that I struggled over for more than FOUR months was finally complete. So....don't be like me. I spent way too long on that cover to the point where my friend probably thought I just gave up on it (which I kinda did). Ok, that was pretty wordy. Good job if you actually read through that whole thing lol.
