Sneak peak of my book WIP :> Please give your feedback in ze comments Some context: Cass is the main character, he's thirteen and lives alone in a very unfair country that suckkss, called Navelore. (pronounced na-vih-lor or na-veh-lor) Also I think I like it in third person? Idk This isn't how the book starts btw - "Over here!" A girl who looked to be about the same age as Cass stepped out of the shadows, waving for him to come with. Without a second thought, he broke free of his frozen stance and followed the girl behind an iron gate, which concealed them both. They quietly held their breath as the illuminated guards passed by. A soon as they were gone the girl spoke. "Well that was a close one. You're going to have to drop that frightened raccoon face if you want to survive here in Navelore." She spat the last word as if it was/were poison. "Um…thanks for helping me, but who are you?" Cass asked. "My name is Arrow. Arrow DeVolica," she answered, tossing her dark cloak over her shoulder. It was draped over a black and green collared shirt – the colors of the Navelon Empire. Arrow grinned at the shocked expression on Cass's face. "I stole it. From that guy over there, actually," she pointed at a guard on patrol. "His name's Gregory." "Why do you know that?" Cass asked, confused. Arrow smirked. "Because I stalk people, obviously. Anyway, who are you?" "I'm Cass. Well, my full name is Casperae Morfar, but nobody calls me that. Nobody calls me anything, really," Cass grimaced. "Yeah, Navelore isn't exactly social," Arrow agreed, adjusting her long chocolate-colored hair. "Are you looking to escape? I've been planning to go to Corelaire, which is located in the east," she said, pointing in front of them. "Have you heard of it? There's supposed to be a lot of wildlife there." Her indigo eyes glazed over with longing. "I do want to escape, but I have a terrible sense of direction, so I'd probably get lost, and I don't have a compass" Cass said timidly. Arrow grinned. "Well, you won't need a compass if you come with me. That's why I'm called Arrow; I'm like the arrow of a compass." asjdkaj
