Q: Nickname? A: Kit. Also Kitty, KitKat, Kitten, Kitchen, Lit... /ij Q: First session? A: November '21. Adventure Survivalists ftw <3 Q: Favorite session? A: I've had a lot of great ones, but it might also be Nov '21. First session magic, maybe, plus I loved the Adventure Survivalist Journal. We created characters and our leader (Pika <3) would give us prompts and we'd write journal entries as our characters as they climbed Adventure Mountain. Most people only wrote one or two entries, but @Galaxy_Awesome and I wrote ones almost every day for the entire month. July 2022 was incredible too - it was my first and so far only session on the leader team, and it was so cool. Shoutout to Birdi and Moonlit for being amazing <33 Q: Least favorite session? A: I don't want to talk bad about any cabins, and also I didn't have any actively unpleasant sessions, just some not-very-memorable ones. So, not sure if I have an answer. Looking back though, I honestly do not know what I was doing in July 2023? I don't have any writing thread from that session, and I hardly completed any camp activities. My cabin was super cool and everything, but I guess I just wasn't that active. Q: Favorite cabin? A: Cabin from a specific session that I've been in, or favorite cabin overall as a genre? I think I'll go with Thriller - it's the only cabin I've been in twice, and both times it was great. For cabins I wasn't in, Myth Maze July '22 looked amazing. Q: Have you ever been a (co) leader? A: Yes, once. I co-led Thriller with Birdi and Moonlit in July '22. Q: What was your favorite cabin you've (co)led? A: Well, I've only co-led one cabin, so... Thriller July 2022! Q: Someone you admire/look up to in SWC? (can be more than 1!) A: Alba, Birdi, Moonlit, and Moss <33 I could probably think of many more, but those are the first who pop into my head. Q: Favorite SWC inside joke? A: Well, who doesn't love arson and mangoes? But I'll always have a soft spot for goats (we stan Monty!). Also Dora the Explorer ;) Q: What cabins have you been in? A: Uhh... *checks list* Adventure, Fan-Fi, Thriller, Real-Fi, Hi-Fi, Fairy Tales, Script Q: What was the account you used for your first SWC session? A: This one lol, I have never moved accounts. Q: Favorite daily? A: Favorite daily prompt? No idea. My favorite thing I wrote for a daily, though, might be... Oh, I don't even remember what session it was from, but I wrote something about this bored teenage hero criticizing a villain for being cliche. I still think it's pretty funny. Q: Favorite writing comp entry you've read? (yours or someone else's) A: Aah there are so many good ones, but I think it has to be Birdi's Mysterious Benedict Society fanfic. It was so hilarious, I'm actually laughing to myself just thinking about it xD Q: Favorite Weekly? A: I'd have to look through my old weeklies to say. Might come back to this one later. Q: Favorite In-cabin activity? A: Probably the aforementioned Adventure Survivalist journal. I had so much fun writing journal entries in-character every day (even if it was a bit stressful trying to get everything written on time ahaha), and I'm still very attached to my character Katya from it. Q: What advice would you give to new swc-ers? A: Don't be afraid to put yourself out there, throw yourself into it, etc. Don't be afraid of the leaders, either, they're all very nice and fun and happy to help new campers :)) Q: Favorite application idea you've seen? A: I haven't kept up with leader apps for maybe a couple sessions, but off the top of my head I remember Moss's urban fantasy platformer app being very cool. I also still think my own app had a pretty cool theme ahaha (actually when I made it I wasn't sure whether it was super cool or super cringy, but everyone else said it was super cool, so I guess it was haha) Q: What inspired you to join SWC? A: I think I just stumbled across some project about it, maybe an old FAQ. I was in a lot of writing studios at the time, which might be how. I thought it looked cool, and then I looked at some of the old memory books and decided it looked amazing. This was probably Septembe 2021 (only like a month after I joined Scratch). I took a look at @Good-Vibxs's SWC studio, and made sure to sign up when October came around. Q: Your favorite piece you've written in SWC? A: I wrote this one fanfic that I'm quite pleased with (but also embarrassed by ahaha... that is, I'm kinda embarrassed by the content of it, but proud of how I executed it), but that's something I was planning on writing anyway but saved to work on during March so it'd count for words. Not sure about my favorite thing I wrote specifically for SWC (I'd have to look through my old writing to say), but off the top of my head, I quite liked my xkcd-inspired villain monologue daily (different daily than the one I mentioned before... though they have a lot in common ahaha).
Q: A suggestion for SWC? A: Can't think of one right now. Q: What you like best about a cabin? (in cabin activity, leader quality, etc.) A: I'm not sure. I think the first thing that grabs me is usually the storyline and in-cabin activities, but what really makes it is the community. Even when the storyline kinda fizzles out, as long as everyone's having fun and hanging out (and we get some inside jokes out of it), it's still great. Q: Favorite Word wars prompt? A: I'll have to look through old prompts to say; might come back to this later. Q: Favorite thing about the SWC community? A: One thing I like is the size. There's plenty of people, but not too many, few enough that you actually know everyone. Some places (cough cough GWDFI) are crazy big and busy, but SWC is a much more comfortable size. Of course I also love how friendly and fun and chaotic everyone is <3 Q: If you were a SWC host for a day, what would you implement or change? A: Not sure. Q: Favorite thing about being a (co)leader? A: There were lots of good parts, but one was that it was really cool being involved in cabin planning :00 I haven't applied for leader since July 2022, but sometimes I do envy the leaders and cos doing so much stuff way before camp starts. Q: Would you want to be a SWC host some day? A: I don't think so. Again, I haven't even applied for co-leader since July 2022. I have huge respect for the hosts, but I don't think I'll ever be one of them. Q: What does SWC stand for? (silly question) A: Smiley Winky Child, Sir Winston Churchill... /ij Silly Writers Congregation Q: Give me a daily idea. A: Okay. *picks up a random daily idea from the suggestions studio* *throws it at you* Here. Q: A goal for the next SWC session. A: ✨have fun✨ also if I can work goats in there that'd be great Q: Favorite SWC memory? A: One of my favorites is breaking the multiverse after the March '22 session. We spammed the main cabin with fandom quotes and song lyrics... It was great. That was also the session that SWC was, like the rest of the internet, obsessed with Encanto (which I continued hyperfixating on for months afterward), which was fun. We don't talk about Brunooo! Q: Do you procrastinate, have an abnormal sleep schedule, and/or an obsession with Taylor Swift? A: Yes, yes, and not exactly an obsession (I'm not a true Swiftie) but I am a fan. My youngest sister got into her and dragged us all with her. Q: Favorite nickname you've seen in SWC? A: Not sure, but I think Inky is an especially cute one. Q: What's your favorite SWC cult that you've seen or been in? A: I can't remember which of the inside jokes became cults... the only one I can think of right now is the frying pan cult. Q: Have you ever stayed up late for SWC? A: I know I stayed up past midnight at least once on the first day of camp so I could write something as soon as November(? I think that was the month; not entirely sure) started in my time zone. Honestly not sure beyond that. Q: What's your favorite part of a SWC session? A: During the session, it's the chaos, the competition, and the writing day and night like I'm running out of time. After the session is over, my favorite part looking back is usually the inside jokes. Q: What's a song that describes SWC or a cabin you've been in? A: Well, I just referenced "Non-Stop" from Hamilton, so... I'd say parts of that one describe SWC ahaha. I remember "Long Live" was the music in a recent memory book, and I think that one is fitting too <3 And of course there are the SWC song parodies- Q: Have you convinced an irl friend to join SWC yet? A: Not a friend, but I got my sister @FairyAyla to join! Q: Have you ever pulled an all-nighter for cabin wars? A: Nope, I do have a healthier sleep schedule than that. Q: Do you have any SWC merch irl? A: No, but now that you mention it I wish I did. Q: Favorite SWC session theme? (name the session and theme!) A: Probably LOTR (March '24). Q: Favorite SWC mascot? A: Monty the Goat (Adventure Nov '21) and Harry the Capybara (Thriller July '22). I refuse to pick between them. For camp-wide mascots, Gurtle was iconic. Q: What's something weird you've done that SWC made you do? A: I mean I wrote a lot of nonsense for it ahaha. Not sure what else IRL. Q: Do you like being a honorary, camper, co-leader, leader, or host? A: I'm happy being a camper. Q: Favorite SWC sibling/ally/neutral/enemy group you've seen? A: Myth and Thriller July '22 were iconic. Went from allies to rivals and bitter enemies. #EndMythTyranny Q: If you could meet one swc-er irl, who would it be? A: That's such a weird thought, I'm so used to everyone existing as computer people. What I would really like is to hang out with several as a group. Q: And finally, Did you like this? A: Yep!
