Hi! I'm Clover and I'm here to give you a horrible, but true, story about one certain little kitten who has big dreams, and a terrible past. ----------------------------------------- Tip. Tip. Tip. The water drips from the roof into an old, rusty bucket that looks like it had been there for years. The old, broken house wasn't the most suitable place to kit, but there wasn't anywhere else the young she-kitty could go. Their father hadn't even bothered to show for his kits' birth, typical. He didn't even care about her; he certainly didn't care about her kits. Pain shot through her, breaking her train of thought and making her yowl out in pain. The kits were coming. She curled her tail around three little bundles, they were beautiful kits, so, so beautiful. She sighed, lying her head on the ground. She was exhausted. Who knew kitting was so tiring? She closed her eyes for a second, a second too long. A dark shadow entered the house, looming in the entrance. She opened her eyes and saw who she'd hoped to never see again. Her mate. He approached her, flicking his tail back and forth with a wicked grin on his face. "Hello Athena," he mews in that annoying, sinister voice she hated so, so much. "Hello Toad," Athena mews, her voice coming out with the hint of a snarl. "You missed my kitting." He didn't seem to care much about that statement, just approached her and stopped in front of her. "Oh, I know." Toad mews. "And now I want you to honor our deal." She wanted so bad to wipe that stupid smirk off of his face. "No! You're not taking my sons, a foxheart like doesn't deserve to even have kits. I don't care what you do to me, just leave my kits alone." She mews. This made the dark tomcat furious, who was she to tell /him/ what to do!? /He/ was the one who controlled everything here, and he wanted his kits. "Last chance, give me the kits or I'll take them by force." He growls. Athena stands up, her neck fur bristling and her hackles raised. "No," she growls. She dove towards him, her claws outstretched, but she was still tired. So, so tired. And too slow. Toad slipped out of her way, and slammed his paw down on her neck, bringing her to the floor with a terrible crack that resounded around the house. He smirked, actually smirked at what he'd done, and turned around and padded over to the kits. What he saw there, made him proud, and disappointed at the same time. He'd been hoping for them to be all male, but alas, there was a she-kit. And a weak she-kit at that, she looked like she could break as easily as a twig. He couldn't use her, but at least he had two strong toms to do what he wanted. Toad picked up the first tomkit and placed him on his back, the next one was placed on his neck, and he roughly picked up the little she-kit by the scruff. He took them, trotting out of the house with all the kits, leaving their mother broken on the floor. Toad stood on the muddy, icy shore of a river. his breath came out in white puffs of mist as he stood, looking down at the freezing cold water. He held the little she-kit in his maw, his teeth in her scruff. The other kits weren't with him, but that didn't mean anything. He'd just left them with his /real/ mate. The fragile little she-kit was shivering, but he didn't care. He held her over the fast-moving water, his eyes cold, like little chips of ice. One step. Another step. He was on the very edge, his paws dipped in the water. he felt the tug of the current on them. Perfect. He smirked, that little indication he was about to do something that he found satisfying. He opened his maw, letting the little she-kit fall. Fall into the water. She immediately got swept up by the current, and was pulled away, the current pulling her this way and that. Her head popped up above the surface, and she gave a small wail, before she plunged back beneath the frosty water. ----------------------------------------- Hi again. So, that concludes the story (for now). I had a whole lot of fun writing this, and I hope y'all like it. :D ----------------------------------------- And lookie there, a Meetings Thumbnail, it's magic.
