Instructions

As always, there are spoilers in this review. Watch the episode first. | | | | | | V Finally, FINALLY!! After so much BFDIA, we are finally returning to TPOT! Since it has been so long, I'll quickly recap my opinion on the episodes just for you. TPOT 1, 2, 9, and 10 are very good, episodes 3 and 7 are just good, episode 6 is mid, and episodes 4, 5, and 8 are bad. In summary, 1 is the best and 5 is the worst. So now that we are caught up to speed, I think TPOT 11 is....yeah it's alright. Going into it I expected it to be a B tier at highest, and I wasn't too far off. I can tell this is going to become one of those episodes that most people really like, so this will most likely differ from your own opinion. But since this is such an extremely different format for an episode, I'll have to use a different format for the review. Lets start with the pros of this episode! The obvious is that it gives the central focus to the exitors. I think it is really cool that they get their time in the spotlight for a long period of time for the first time since BFB 11. I think the animation and the backgrounds are stellar, wouldn't change a thing. The intro used was really neat, and I think that all of the exitors were really likable. I used to hate Firey Jr, but he was actually really enjoyable. Match finally got her time to show her personality without Pencil for the first time in a WHILE, same applies to Pencil. Bracelety's Ice Cube worshipping was really funny. And I actually didn't mind David or Roboty because they had the decency to do something helpful for once. What else...I liked how Match developed claustrophobia it made her slightly more interesting...yeah that's about it time for the cons. First off is a personal issue for me, we didn't get to see any TPOT. This entire episode was a subplot, and we didn't get to see any of the contestants for over a second even though it has been months. If this episode were to handle both the show and the Exitor subplot at the same time than I think it wouldn't have been an issue. And also the main problem of this episode, at least in my opinion, I think it is extremely predictable. Like, the second Pencil makes her speech on the microphone I knew the rest of the plot in a heartbeat. Also...it's just really boring? With the exception of a few scenes, most of it is just the exitors just..walking around. You mean to tell me they spent three years straight in the same exact area? Again if the challenge was happening at the same time it wouldn't have been nearly as uninteresting. 8-Ball is extremely bland, no surprises there, and Dora is pretty underused. I would have expected Liy to do a lot more than she ended up doing. Four is not only unlikable, but also annoying and dumb. I didn't hate him in Post-Split, but yeesh its just turned up a notch here. He is insistent than nobody leaves because it is "eTerNal", and says that the exitors agreed to it when they NEVER DID? He is also Dumb because he somehow gets fended back by the smallest attacks ever. Brug, you can literally become the SUN why can't you capture these guys? So yeah it was just kind of whatever for me. This is the first time since TPOT 6 that there has really been a meh episode. There has been kind of bad, abysmal, amazing, great, good, but no mediocre ones. So on the tier list of TPOT episodes I would put it in C tier at 7th place, below episode three but ahead of episode six. As for the score, a solid 6/10 feels fair. Anyways that's kind of it. See you next time when I turn a used mattress into a hot dog. Bye!
