Description

I know this might seem outlandish for me to talk about, since, well, I'm not gay*. However, I do still have an understanding from other people. I have a couple of transgender friends. One of which was someone I knew in elementary school, and transitioned in 6th grade. Another one is a bit older than me, and is having trouble with their own opinion. Despite this, as I said, I am friends with them, and know what they struggle with. Now of course, in recent times, a lot of confusion and awkwardness has come with the topics of LGBTQ+. Some schools don't even bother to discuss it. It may be hard for you to decide for yourself who you love, or what your gender is. It can take months, or years to finally realize what your identity is. Our society definitely can make it harder. With the rise of acceptance but also deplore about these topics, it can probably feel confusing. It can be stressful, and overwhelming. There will be people in our lives who don't accept us as who we want to be. Your friends, school, or even your parents. Alienation from society and actual violence is becoming a huge problem. It's even getting censored in media. It can sometimes seem like our society will never change. But don't give up, on yourself or others. No matter your body type, who you love, your gender expression, or opinion on other people, you are you. There are people who can accept you, and even with unaccepting people, don't immediately give up on them. Persuade them. Help them understand how everyone is different. It may take them a while, and at the bare minimum, tell them to respect your decisions. And if they don't change? Out the door they should go. You, me, and many other people I know can help lower discrimination and mistreatment towards the LGBTQ+ community. Of course, there are protests and petitions, but it can also be simple things like showing empathy towards those going through difficulties in their lives. Respect others decisions and stand up for rights, and you'll be a small voice to help change society for the better. Everyone can make a change, no matter how noticeable it is. And of course...Happy Pride Month! Here's this great music video you should watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITRdvGnplLU - 97Scratch, 2024 *Technically, I don't know if I'm straight either. It's complicated. I might explain it in the future. **Wait a minute, how long has it been..*mumbling to himself* A MONTH SINCE MY LAST PROJECT?!
