I might make a step by step walkthrough of this. TIP : All oni chases are 8 seconds long and will vanish at the end (i need to make it vanish when the player enters a room. Endings are decided by your actions and what you do for instance, which doors you bust down with the sledgehammer.
This is a pixelated version of Ao Oni. This is project is inspired by both Ao Oni and Scratch Oni, I am not copying in any way (hopefully). I am only using the door colours to change rooms, not for puzzles like the safe one in Scratch Oni. Also "oni" is japanese for demon. I was itching to do this because I played scratch oni and just felt like doing this. Thanks mathwiz for letting me use the title music from scratch oni! I am still making this and I still need to do the oni chases. The game is completeable (wut?) but it's not a good ending. NOTE : Some items will only work for certain things. Updates : V1.1 : Making the oni and a crack in the dungeon wall to make the oni bust through to chase the player. V1.2 : The oni is finished and will vanish after an 8-second chase. V1.3 : Gave the oni a few tentacles for a scarier look. V1.4 : The oni is no longer harmless and will end the game if you touch it. V1.5 : Scripted the oni to go through doors and chase the player. V1.6 : Just a tiny change, added another small script for the ! to hide when it's game over and moved the crack so the oni will emerge from the floor. V1.7 : Slowed the oni down and increased time for it to go through doors. From 1 second to go through 2 seconds. V1.8 : Added Game over music (thanks mathwiz!) Made the crack in the dungeon smaller. V1.9 : Added basement for the trapdoor. (still making basement rooms) And sorted the crack so the oni emerges from the crack/hole. V2.0 : Added a puzzle and a jumpscare death. Chapter 1 is basically the game but just skipped the intro. I am not telling you where the notes are or what the codes are so you don't cheat ;) Added Note for Chapter 2 code. (MINI UPDATES) Fixed scripts as I tested them and the game messed up due to sprite-renaming. Tweaked Chapters so you can still go on chapter 1 when you unlocked chapter 2.
