[English] International Day of Play ----- June 11th is the first ever UN International Day of Play and you’re invited to join! It was created as a reminder to all of us about the power of play to spark joy, foster creativity, and develop new skills. Play is a very important and fundamental right for every young person. It helps us have fun and express ourselves freely through different activities and sports. But play is not just for fun; it is essential. It helps us be creative, learn new things, and make friends. It makes us feel good and helps us grow up healthy and happy, both in our bodies and our minds. While incredibly important, not every young person has the ability to play as much as others. This happens for a number of reasons including lack of time, lack of accessible options, lack of safe spaces, and even the perception that play is not important among parents, teachers, or other adults in a young person's life, among others. Let’s help add our voices to why play is important and continue to play and foster the love of playing for all by celebrating this first UN International Day of Play together! Looking for ideas to get started? - When you think of the term “play” or “playing”, what comes to mind for you? Share a project that shares what play means to you and why it’s important to you. - Create artwork to show what play means to you. - Think of your favorite type of playing, such as a sport, playground game, online activity, making music, etc, and recreate it in a Scratch project so others can play, too. - Think of who you like to play with and create a story, poem, song, or artwork about it. - How could play be made more accessible to you or other young people in your community? Share your ideas in a project to let us know! Remember, these are only suggestions! You are welcome to come up with your own ideas as well, or take inspiration from projects already in the studio. What will you create? =^..^=
