The Battle of Wahda Airport was a battle between Jaish al-Tauhid (Army of Monotheism), the Euphrates Federation, and Jabhat al-Muqatileen wal Hafzah al-Salam (The Front of Fighters and Peacekeepers). The battle started at EFAF Airstrip "Wahda" (Unity) at 9:20 AM on July 7th, 2024 as "Revenge for the senseless gas and chemical attacks upon the civilians of the town of Hafiz", as stated by JaT's spokesperson, Abu Mulathim. The fighters attacked the island the airport was on via naval invasion on small boats. Jaish al-Tauhid members emerged from caves and trenches, attacking the allied groups, specifically targeting Jamhas (J.M.H.S) members. The battle "did great damage to our military capabilities, as well as those of Jamhas", said the president of the Federation, Ahmed al-Mansour. The fight resulted in 16 Jamhas casualities, 84 Federation casualties, and 97 JaT casualties, as well as the two groups meeting with JaT to agree to remove their forces from the Hafiz Governorate as well as hand over the island to Jaish al-Tauhid, giving them as well as Rijal al-Isa an upper hand in the greater war. The airstrip was converted into a civilian airport under the United Islamic Governorates of Farisia, which is the state run by Jaish al-Tauhid's political wing, Hahaj (acronym for Harakat al-Hourriya wal Jahad). The airport is now regularly patrolled and guarded by members of the Joint Response Force, the special unit shared between Jaish al-Tauhid and Rijal al-Isa.
